Subcategories On Cs-Cart Marketplace

Hello everybody!

We got 700+ products registered on CS-Cart Marketplace, so product search is getting hard for clients. We plan to add subcategories on CS-Cart Marketplace to improve its usability.

Check out the suggested categories structure. Please share your thoughts, and suggestions in this thread.

Just my 2-cents worth, I think structure is fine.

Perhaps import/export could also be part of 'Integrations'

B2B is not only 'Site Management' but should also be an aspect of Customer Experience (wholesale customers require different GUI) and probably Integrations (with customers'systems). But I do not know if there are any-addons?

Good luck

Olof

I too believe the current is fine. You can spread the themes out if you want since that's the bulk of your listings.

As a customer that has recently been browsing & shopping that area, I'd like to add the function that's most needed is the ability to search only add-ons or only themes. If you can do it now it's not obvious how. I've searched several times and I get very tired of weeding through themes to find the add-on we need.

Yes, this is key. People post a theme when all it is is a different color scheme. There are way more themes than addons so customers who are looking for addons get overwhelmed when searching for keywords. Ability to restrict by these two areas is very important.

…and maybe some kind of moderating or approval of the themes that gets listed. The same theme with a different banner or header color dosnt make it two different themes. Way to many themes that are basicly the same with just small changes that anybody could do themselves in the theme editor.

Also you should make it mandatory to the developers to list what version of CS-Cart the addon or theme is compatible with. You have that in the admin, but whats the point if its not visible on the frontend?

Thank you all for your comments!

I assume the first thing we are to change is our product search tool. We will add the ability to search only by add-ons or only by themes.

The second is to display the version compatibility information on the product page.

As for “the theme problem” we will think on what can be done to solve it.

Those will be very much appreciated changes - thank you!

Ok thanks to everyone. We are not going to implement any changes to Categories structure and naming.

If I may add to this list, it would be very much appreciated if you could add:

-"Vendor" filter

-How many addons do they have? There are some non CS-Cart vendors who have only 1 add-on, it would help to filter them out.

-Search functionality is extremely poor. I was looking for add-ons that improve Admin Panel or Order Management, when I search for Order, I get 100+ add-ons, almost 80%+ of them are irrelevant.

-Ability to Add add-ons to Wishlist would be great.

-Ability to list more than just 12 Add-ons per page would greatly help.
