Taxable Product By Default

In our 4.2.4 store when we add a new product the taxable checkbox is not chosen by default. Is there a way to always set set this field?

Please open the design\backend\templates\views\products\update.tpl file and replace:








with

Yes, thank you, I saw that. But I am surprised there is not general setting in the Admin to do this without modifying a template file.

I tried this and cleared all cache (php?&cc&ctpl), but the tax is not ticked on when I add a new product.
