I Have the same problem here with v1.3.3 running MySQL 5+ and higher, if I run MySQL 4 it works, I don't know how to fix it. Post a ticket in your Helpdesk to CS and see if they can resolve this issue.

It's not mysql issue, but web-server. The fact is that web-server forms cookies
incorrectly due to some reasons. The temporary solution is the following:

Replace the following code in './core/sessions.php' script

 setcookie($CSCART_SESSION_NAME, $GLOBALS[$CSCART_SESSION_NAME], TIME+SESSION_ALIVE_TIME, '/', ".$current_host", 0);
 setcookie($CSCART_SESSION_NAME, $GLOBALS[$CSCART_SESSION_NAME], 0, '/', ".$current_host", 0);

with this one
 setcookie($CSCART_SESSION_NAME, $GLOBALS[$CSCART_SESSION_NAME], TIME+SESSION_ALIVE_TIME);
 setcookie($CSCART_SESSION_NAME, $GLOBALS[$CSCART_SESSION_NAME], 0);

===========

Replace the following code in './core/languages.php' script

 setcookie('cart_language'.AREA, $cart_language, 0, $cscart_http_dir, ".$cscart_http_host");
 setcookie('cart_language'.AREA, $cart_language, 0, $cscart_https_dir, ".$cscart_https_host");

with this one
 setcookie('cart_language'.AREA, $cart_language, 0);
 setcookie('cart_language'.AREA, $cart_language, 0);

===========

Replace the following code in './core/currencies.php' script

 setcookie('secondary_currency'.AREA, $secondary_currency, 0, $cscart_http_dir, ".$cscart_http_host");
 setcookie('secondary_currency'.AREA, $secondary_currency, 0, $cscart_https_dir, ".$cscart_https_host");

with this one
 setcookie('secondary_currency'.AREA, $secondary_currency, 0);
 setcookie('secondary_currency'.AREA, $secondary_currency, 0);

I'm having this exact problem with my purchased copy of 1.3.3 installed locally. Once I got it installed, the Trial worked fine till the 15 days expired, so I'm pretty sure my PC is configed OK.

I tried the solution posted, but only the sessions.php file had the lines noted for replacement. I suspect the other 2 files have been updated since May when this was posted.

Any ideas? I'll submit to the Help Desk, but it's Friday morning (near end of day there) so I'm guessing I won't get an answer till Monday.

Win XP + Apache + PHP5 all running fine.

I had the same problem and I'm assuming it did'nt work for you patching sessions.php? I'd hang on as v1.3.4 will be out very soon, however during this time you can being to familiarize yourself with the current features ect...otherwise what software are you running on your local machine? and have you tried uploading your store to your webserver?

Fixing the sessions file didn't help.

Yeah, I am aware the new version should soon be here. But I've been able to develop my basic catalog in an importable form w/ the trial version. I had hoped to learn something on how to modify smarty templates while I wait too. Knowing not to do major revisions until the new version is released I'm still trying to be productive. The bear of the wait is my free month of support is slipping away.

<edit>I'm running wampserver, which is a front end and install program for apache, I think the most recent version. I've got PHP5, my OS is XP Home SP2. I don't have my webserver configured yet. They have to enable php & provide a mysql database before I can install online.</edit>

Sorry, I edited my previous post while you were responding.

No, I don't and they won't have me setup to do so till next week. I figured I'd wait on that till 1.3.4 is available and just work locally till then learning the ropes.

This is purchased to use / replace an active static site. I wasn't in a hurry to have them modify my hosting setup because 1.3.4 wasn't available yet, and I didn't see the point in committing to lots of actual development till it is available. I'll see if they can mod my hosting today so I can try an install online.
