is there a way to enable the checkout to take into account gift certificate being used so that the delivery change is taken off the balance? in words, when you have a certificate value for £20 and the product you buy is £10, delivery is £5, only a balance of £5 should be left.
i dont want our users of gift certificate to have to pay delivery seperately.
any ideas?

go to addons, gift certificates and tick the box that states "Allow to redeem shipping cost with gift certificate: "

I tried that but the cost of delivery isn't taken off the balance of the certificate… it just offers free delivery…
What is your cart version? Does your shipping cost depend on cart item value?
Version is 2.2.5. The shipping cost is weight dependent.

Do you have any promotions on your website? Or does your cs-cart have any modifications?
These factors can be reasons of your problem.
We have checked this issue on Cs-Cart 2.1.4. and everything works fine. The shipping cost is taken off the balance of the certificate.
