Are Searchwords By Customers Recorded?

When a visitor of my website uses the search field are the words he uses recorded? My former shop in Magento 1.4.1.1 keeped track of the searchwords used by the visitors. It is very helpfull for me to adres some typo's to the keywords-feature option in the product database for example.

Is it possible to look into the keywords of the visitors?

Yes, it is really useful function. But, unfortunately, there is no such ability in default version of CS-Cart.

Unfortunately, additional code modifications are required to implement this feature. If you are interested, please contact me.

Where do you want the words that were used in searches displayed? On the admin view of the order?

I found an addon for v3 that reports search words used in the store AND used in SE (Google, Bing, Yahoo) referring URL.

That addon provides a list sorted by newest under a new menu item in admin.

It's called QCart SEO.

Trouble is that Google has changed what they do. No longer is the query (search words) provided in the referrer if the user was logged into Google when they did the search (I.e. a mobile device). It then becomes an https request and they strip out the 'q' parameter before setting the referrer. Not sure about Bing or Yahoo, but expect they are behind the curve and not used nearly as much.

V3 used to make this info easy to get to via the statistics addon. But that's no more. Our Fraud Detection addon will provide the referrer info in an order along with the page navigation history of the user on the site leading up to the order.

The latest version of our free Search Improvements add-on allows to track search words used by the customers. Feel free to try

Date means last time the search string was used.

Does it tell the merchant the words that were used to get to a conversion? Or does it just keep stats on a global basis of how frequently a search term was used?

At the moment, it does not take into account conversion processes. If we have such requests, we will add this feature. But I am not sure that the module will be free in this case

ok thanks for all the answers :)

We are glad to help you.

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but can't you see customer's search keywords under Add-On's, Statistics, Products?

As far as I can see, you use version 4.0.3 where was the Statistics add-on. But it is no longer supported by CS-Cart

Yes, you're right. I am using 4.0.3 and I should have mentioned that aspect.
