Addon: Shipping Labels

The purpose of this thread is to take commitments from the community to raise enough funds to develop shipping labels functionality with UPS, USPS (stamps.com or endicia) and FedEx. AT one time shippingkit had these addons but they do not appear to be supporting them on v4.1.x and we've waited long enough. I'm tired of manually inputting shipping labels are you?

OK so here's the deal I have secured one of the best CS-Cart developers (not me thankfully so don't leave yet…lol) on the history of planet earth. The addons will cost ~$350 per carrier:

UPS Shipping Labels = $350

USPS Shipping Labels = $350

FedEx Shipping Labels = $350

===============================

I'm in for $150 towards the development costs which is basically $50 towards each carrier. Folks it won't take many donations to get the job done here, make a commitment and save time printing labels automatically from the back-end, prevent possible errors and get a tax write-off !

Sno's in for $150

I would be in for the UPS module as well

I am IN for $100 as long as it work and print label on thermal printer as shipping kit is crap and labels never print on thermal printer or its just me not sure .

Umm, there's lots of cheaper third party software to do this. We use Ship Rush and they have free or reduced cost versions for most carriers. Or we import our orders into Quickbooks and ship from there. I think you're recreating the wheel. You still have to pay for the shipping costs to have a proper label. I also thought there was a new add-on that was advertising a monthly rate to do all this.

I'd do some more homework.

Jack

@tigerbabba, let me know which brand, model of thermal printer you have because we also have one.

I don't think so, other then the initial development cost our addon will cost $0/month forever. Both Shiprush and Shipstation are $30/month + another $30/month if you want to print USPS labels through Stamps.com or Endicia, so that's $720+ which is ALOT higher then a $100 investment. Aftership is probably the cheapest and best alternative especially if your a low volume shipper. Besides why submit customer data to more 3rd parties when you don't have too.

I don't think so, sitting back and never improving is a slow irreversible death, instead we're putting bearings and grease on the wheel so we can work less and play more.

Homework done, the answer to working faster, cheaper and smarter is this addon.

ShipRush is free for FedEx and does international shipping. And is only $30 for USPS, which you have to pay for Stamps or Endicia. Everytime USPS and so on change their API you're going to have to update your add-on. There's no free lunch.

We use Zebra GK42-202510-000 Direct Thermal Desktop Label Printer, 203 dpi (8 dots/mm)

And only interested in UPS.

Whoever is making that addon - please make sure when processing shipping label it should allow us to define weight for the label as boxes, reason why because we sometime ship 5 , 10 boxes per order.

On the apps from shippingkit.com we was never able to get the USPS one to actually work on a thermal printer. It ended up being a waste of money.

The UPS add on worked like a charm and we loved it!

In regards to the group gig, sorry, I'm a little hesitant. That just did not work out so well in the past. It really needs to be taken on by someone that would then resell and hopefully keep the code updated. I'm just not so sure anyone would want to take the old add ons from shippingkit and claim them as their own.

I'm in. My business uses Endicia and want to use the label creation and updating built into Endicia's Dazzle software.

I'm in for $300 towards the development costs for all modules and a cut of all proceeds from reselling it of course.

Let me know…thnx Chris

I migrated to 3D Cart a couple of years ago and am thinking of coming back to CS. I used shippingkit with CS and worked great but apparently not supported now so I would gladly pay for this addon - Did it ever get off the ground?

Any update on this? I currently use Shippingkit on 3.6 for usps and fedex with no issues at all. I use a thermal printer and never have a problem with it. Biggest issue I have is I cannot move to version 4 without it. How much is needed and how long to do the development of it?

Any plan to upgrade this
Is this plugin ready for 4.1.x ?
