I'm looking to export the first image of each option combination, largely as our products are made to order we don't have a 'default' image loaded. Presently my products are being exported sans image_link which is somewhat silly.

One of our developers has just tried to think of a quick solution to your question but I'm afraid there is not a quick one. Custom modification is required. You know, you are always welcome to contact us for a quote.
