Thanks Simos but I have given up on 4.1.3 as it 'should' work well out of the box.
I am happy enough with 3.0.6 and the only reason I wanted to upgrade was
for Image Zoom which I can get for my 3.0.6
Support could offer no solution after examining it on my server.
I doubt that they actually took a good look as it was a freebie.

One of my sites is a little image heavy but considering so its doing remarkably well, of course we all wish we could do even better. Keep in mind most customers searching for a particular niche product will wait for a page to load if they feel what they are searching for has value. If your selling iphone cases which can be had on 100's of sites then someone most likely will not wait for a slow page load.

Page Speed Grade: (94%) A
YSlow Grade: A (93%)

@telemart - did you see any improevemnts by using redis? Was the cache for files or for session or what? Right now out MySQL performance is hurting us and I am looking to offload what I can from the DB.

Thanks!
