All of a sudden I am deluged with e-mail spam. I have the captcha mod installed and it is working. How are these getting through? I am getting over 100 per day all with the same text.

I think its because CAPTCHA you are using is protecting contact form, but spam is sent not through contact form but directly POST request. We had the same issue here. A simple hack may probably help you to beat spam:

1) open include/customer/forms.php
2) find the line that begins with fn_send_mail($form_data['email']
3) change it to the following code:

if (strstr($_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'], $http_location)) fn_send_mail($form_data['email'], $from, 'forms/form_subject.tpl', 'forms/form_body.tpl', $attachments, $settings['Appearance']['admin_default_language'], $reply_to);

From now, your forms script will ignore all POST requests that are coming not from contact form.

Many thanks for the hack. I'll give it a try.

UPIXAR,
Thank you for your code.
Is your "hack" something that CS-CART should consider and include your code with the next version so everyone can benefit from?
I like the form for contact purposes because I have put email addresses on my website which causes spam and spoofing. The form method of contact is suppose to prevent this. Seems like the current CS-Cart code is a "bug" if it does not protect against spamming.
Thanks for the code.

It looks like working. Last days we did not receive any spam. Previously, we had up to 200 spam messages a day.

What version is this happening in? Is it the same in the Beta Version?
