I need to add a complicated set of product options to a large list of already existing products. Is there any way to do this quickly/en masse? Or am I screwed, because I'm not cloning a previous item to a brand new item? Do I essentially have to go back and build all new items?

Have you tried cs-cart global options?
Can you also do global options IN SETS with certain forbidden combinations built in? That's a large part of my problem. Thanks.
