CS-Cart And Multi-Vendor 4.1.1 Released, CS-Cart Facebook App Is Coming

Hello,

Today, we are happy to present a new major version on our CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor software - 4.1.1.

This release includes numerous improvements and fixes, as well as introduces some new features:
[]Add-ons and themes can be installed from stand-alone archives

[
]Order placement page has been improved (no more “Placing order…” blank page)

[]Graphic banners can now be language-specific, so you can show different banners for different storefront languages

[
]eBay product sync add-on is available for purchase

5 brand new storefront styles
See the full changelog on our site.

Upgrade

4.0.x stores can be upgraded to 4.1.1 via the Upgrade Center in the CS-Cart admin panel. The upgrades should be available to all CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor storeowners within several days.

You can also download an installation distribution package from the File Area in your Help Desk account.

Important: It was announced on the forum earlier that we were going to remove five add-ons during the 4.1.1 upgrade process. Instead, we have decided to keep the add-ons during the upgrade, and just make them Disabled. In addition, these add-ons are not included in the 4.1.1 distribution package.

The add-ons are available on GitHub under an open-source license. Feel free to fork them and take over their development.

CS-Cart Facebook App

We are also excited to announce that the CS-Cart Facebook app is soon to be released.

This app will allow you to embed an existing CS-Cart or Multi-Vendor store in a Facebook page.

We will publish a special announcement about the app soon, stay tuned to our blog.

We would be happy to hear your thoughts about the new version in this thread.

Good work!

Good work!!!

I want to ask something.

We are upgrading our store from 2.2.5 to 4.x.x ver.

We are now at the “configure your store” step before the actualizing data.

Can we do now the upgrade to 4.1.1 and continue with design and other settings then?

Yes, you can import your 2.2.5 store directly to 4.1.1

do they normally work in this version?

When will the add-on marketplace go live?

Also, the demo of the aministration panel keeps crashing my Chrome browser on Windows 7.

I have the same problem Hrome After a clean install of Cs-Cart 4.1.1 and entering a username and password, google hrome closes the page and displays

Error message “Aw, Snap …”

Previously, there was no such problem: windows 8.1, hrome version 32.0.1700.76

Rolled to Hrome version 31.0.1650.63

The problem disappeared.

Yes, same problem here!

Debug Mode for CSS and JS has been removed - this is a bad decission, I cant understand. This is a hit-in-face for developers as Firebug can only provide the CSS Line info of non-merged css files.

Finding css code in merged files takes alot more time, please reconsider or give another solution.

Kind regards

“
Addons: Banners: Multi-language support for graphic banners added.” - nice work. ;)

Great work CS-Cart. I am really excited to try the Facebook Store. I would be happy to beta test it for you.

I have a store with 4.0.3 running perfect. I would like to install 4.1.1.

do you recommend a clean install or is exactly the same if I wait a few days and update through the Update Center?

how long will be ready the update on the update center?

If I upgrade through the upgrade center, I will not lose nothing? css changes, translations, etc… nothing, the upgrade is 100% safe?

thanks for your response and your help. 4.1.1 looks great.

Admin panel: CSS debug mode and JavaScript debug mode options removed as non-useful.

Not useful? Did someone in the CS-Cart office have one too many sherries at Christmas?

Lots of bug fixes in the 4.1.1 release which is good to see, here's hoping it is the V4 release we have been waiting for. Time to find out…

PS. It would also be prudent for CS-Cart to confirm exactly what pages (and their displayed values respective of each admin page) can and cannot be edited between Actualizing and Finalising the store import. I have lost count how many times I have had to start a Store Import from the beginning because some pointless setting had been changed.

Thank you for the report guys,

We confirm this problem. We've submitted a bug report to Google and to the datepicker developers (browser crashes when processing the datepicker JS library), waiting for response. We will keep you informed.

Currently, using another browser is the only workaround.

Thanks iMac. Any word on when the Add-On Marketplace will go live?

I hope in a month or two we will officially anounce it.

At the moment, we are working with developers on filling it up. You are free to browse it on marketplace.cs-cart.com

I'm not quite clear how are you going to transfer your data to clear v4.1.1 installation from your v4.0.3

Store Import addon does not support import data from 4.0.x to 4.1.1

I would recommend you to wait until Upgrade to v4.1.1 is available.

That's right, all your data should be updated.

We tested it very thoroughly, so I'm sure it is safe. Even in case some bugs appear out tech support team will fix it on your side.

I just took a look at the marketplace and it is coming along. I think this is really exciting. I am very happy you are pursuing this.

I really hope CS-cart could improve SEO in next release. Currently we have to install various 3rd party addons to do the job.

Fully agreed. Its vital to get a SEO upgrade for CS-Cart because it affects sales. Though this will require a front end rewrite and will break the styles.
