I opened a support ticket today about making changes to the robots.txt file that I have in my public_html folder and the rep says, “Generally, I recommend you to use the default robots.txt file in your CS-Cart store.”
There is delay in getting responses between the help desk and me, due to time zone differences. Maybe somebody here can clarify this more quickly?
Where is the default robots.txt file in the store? Is there a way to access a robots file via the admin panel or actual store? I’ve never seen that before. It was my understanding that you have to create a robots.txt file and upload it to the public_html of your site, which I did. I guess that sort of overrides the default robots file, so do I access the default file???
This may be causing some of the issues I reported in this thread.
