Will upgrading mess up my site? What bases should I cover?

I want to upgrade to the current version of CS Cart. Will this mess up my layout, blocks, etc in any way? Or is it just a code update? Do I need to do anything before we buy the upgrade for our storefronts?

Depends on which version you are running, what and how any modifications you have made have been implemented, etc. Addons for V2 and V3 are not compatible with V4 and will require rewrites. Many templates have changed considerably too between previous versions of the cart.



Create a V4 store on a subdomain and try the store import to get an idea of what work you will need to do.

Is it subdomain or subdirectory. The Knowledge Base says subdirectory - or does it even matter?
