How could I get CS-Cart generate better URL's?

This might be a silly question but I just want to make sure. Does CS-Cart automatically generate URL's when I create a new product? If so, is there a way to get CS Cart to generate more descriptive URLs? It seems like my product URL's could be better. Wouldn't making the URLs more descriptive benefit us when it comes to search results/rankings?

The URL's (SEO Name) are automatically generated when creating a new product. The SEO Name is generated based on the Product Name, certain characters are replaced or removed altogether to ensure the URL is SEO friendly, for instance, a space is replaced with '-' and two spaces are replaced with a single '-'. A '£' symbol is removed altogether due to the character encoding and non-SEO friendly nature of the £ symbol.

You can use SEO names as well. That is what most of them do. You can change to URL to look like www.yoursite.com/category-productname-features.html under the SEO name in the product page in admin.

Ex, www.yoursite.com/apple-iphone-5s-screen-protector.html

For example, you sell car parts. Instead of having; mydomain.com/parts/cat-b34/wheelset-112232.html

You might have;

mydomain.com/audi-parts/audi-a4/19-inch-5-spoke-rims-suit-audi-a4.html

If you want even neater urls. there is a post for removing the “.html” extension; http://forum.cs-cart…eo-remove-html/
