Custom Locations for Layout Free Addon

Xmas gift from Dvs!

Another useful Addon that allows you to create custom location in layout for a separate category, product or even page and build a unique Landing Page.

All you have to do is create a new Location from Layout Manager and insert pages.view&page_id=[your page-category-product id].

It looks like the default use of Location creation but you have to add the part after & where you set
[]pages.view&page_id=[your page id] for a specific page (look for id number in your admin url when you editing the page)

[
]categories.view&category_id=[your category id] for a specific category (look for id number in your admin url when you editing the category)

products.view&product_id=[your product id] for a specific product (look for id number in your admin url when you editing the product)

The benefit to all this is that you dont need to have a Product Location with many blocks that you have to keep disable and only enable in a specific product. (same for category and pages)

You keep all your pages in the Locations List.

Available for v4.0.x only

Happy Holidays!

Thanks!!

Nice one - thanks!

I tried today this plug in and what happens is that when I enable it my default location of product pages and categories is not used any more.

Is it possible to set a location for products and categories as default and only if i assign a custom it will override the default one?

Thanks a lot.

HI medical

Sorry for the late reply. Didnt got a message from the forum.

Let me check this and I will get back to you.

Fotis

Hi

I have fixed this bug, please try again by completely unsinstalling and deleting all old files first.

Custom Locations v4.0.x v2.zip

Thank you for the response. I tried as you instructed.

Now it works for the pages and products but not for the categories.

It is close to perfection …

By default you are able to define custom locations for particular products, pages, categories in the block manager, if you choose the “view page” / “view categories” / “view product” option in the Dispatch selector of the location. After this, you are able to define the objects (ids) for the location.

What is the special feature of your add-on? Because from your description, this feature is available by default in CS-Cart.

Actually from my experience it is quite useful because you can create a page and a location and give this page special styling without having to have all the specific needed elements on the default page location.
