Upgrade from 2.2.4 to 4.0.2 stalls

Hi,

So far I havent seen any posts with the same problem

I've tried to use store import several times but get the same results. Everything goes fine with the import but progress bar stops 1/4 of the way and stays at “Updating data - Upgrading to 301” then after a few minutes, it just stops and goes back to the “validate and import” step. No error message.

I tried to optimize database, remove stats/logs.

Has anyone experienced this? I'm using multivendor

I have a similar problem importing from 2.2.5 to 4.0.2. It hangs up at about 10% through the process. Then eventually goes back to the previous, validate and import, step.

Today, I tried logging into the new install (4.0.2) and now get an error message: Oops! an error occured.

I'm also having the same issue upgrading from 2.2.5 to 4.0.2. Validate and import comes up, I see it backing some things up, starting to install, and then it just quits and goes back to the Validate and Import step.

I reported a bug, but I haven't received an answer yet. My fingers are crossed that when 4.0.3 comes out that the import tool will work like it's supposed to. That will make my life Sooooo much easier!

I emailed support and got the following response:

I have checked the log files and it seems that the Store Import add-on just stops working due to restrictions on your server. Please contact your server administrator and ask him/her to increase the Local and Master values of the following directives:

memory_limit > 512

max_execution_time > 3600

mysql.connect_timeout > 1000

My server administrator wasn't ready to just increase the values because it could slow down other users sharing server resources. They offered assistance in looking at it further from their side, so we'll see what they say.

Support is just guessing when they give you this! I've worked with CS-Cart long enough that I've seen them throw out this answer before when they don't know why something is failing. But I have a strong feeling this wouldn't fix the problem anyway!

Agreed, I thought this answer was a stall tactic as well. I did have my server admin go in and follow their instructions, and from what I can tell, everything imported. I'm still poking around the data before I start configuring the store the way I want it, but so far all the products, customers, user groups, order history, etc looks to be there now.

I noticed that every time i attempt an import, cs-cart creates new folders with truncated folder names. The first letter is missing. Is this the same experience for others?

I noticed that as well. I wasn't sure where they came from or what to do with them.

Yes . 4.02 is not ready for prime time yet, I will be using 2.2.5 for as long as I have to. many bugs to be fixed. Can you see any shipping tracking info in your imported orders?

Unfortunately I must agree with you. V.2.2.5 is a stable version and the fastest from all versions, except the v.1.3.5 releases.

Click edit order then change nothing click save. Tracking info appears then…

Are you kidding , I will try that. there is a post regarding this in the bug tracker and it is confirmed and they are working on it.

Tried that but did not work, I still can't see the tracking info

Quick update:

I had the same issue, cs-cart dev tems response; this worked out for me.

It could be due the lack of resources of your server. Please contact your server administrator and ask him/her to increase the Local and Master values of the following settings to the greatest values possible:

memory_limit

max_execution_time

mysql.connect_timeout

Happy coding!

I have version 2.2.1 and thought about upgrading to the latest and greatest but have reservation. I’m afraid the URL links may change from one store which will end up killing my website traffic short term. :( Good luck!
