How can I upgrade to 4.0.2

Hello,

I am trying to upgrade to version 4.0.2 but I can't find the upgrade option.

Please let me know how can I do it.

Thanks!!

Sorry I forgot to say I am using version 3.0.6

From what version?

If you trying to upgrade from 4.01 to 4.02 you will have to wait maybe another week. It will show in admin/upgrade center.

You have to install 402 first in a different dir and than use the import tool available in 4.02

Could you please let me know from where can I found the import tool?

Its in ADD-Ons/Manage add ons

. May need to be installed first before you see it in Administration

On the subject of upgrading, just where do you create the new directory ?

All my 'stuff' currently resides in a folder called public_html

Do I simply create another folder on the same level called say public_html2 ?

You can create a dir inside public_html

To install I would be yourdomain.com direct/install

But doesn't this cause v4 to generate new URLS such as changing http://www.my_site.com/category/ to http://www.my_site.com/new_direct/category/
It would generate a new store and new url. Import from older version. You then would have to move it to main domain and edit the config file. The way I have it is I have mydomain.com/shop and installed new 4.02 in my domain.shop2 with new database and then will edit the config file. Not for everyone to do it this way. Someone may have a better solution.

P.S. Always backup. Store and database
I would think CS-Cart would have addressed this issue in the upgrade instructions, but I didn't see anything about this other than to install in a new directory.

One thing I noticed when going from v2.2.5 to 4.0.3 was that my live store home page display was left in a shambles…so to fix this whilst I continued on getting 4.0.3 right, I went into the live store->Design->Blocks and open, in my case the categories block, and just saved it. My store home page on the live store was back to the way it was…just a tip that may help others
