CS-Cart 4 Final Released

Hello,

Today, we are very happy to announce a new major version of the CS-Cart shopping cart—CS-Cart 4.0.1.

We have been working on this release for a long time. It is packed with awesome new features and works faster than any previous CS-Cart version.

CS-Cart 4.0.1 is available in Ultimate and Multi-Vendor editions; Professional edition has been discontinued.

We have re-introduced the opportunity to use CS-Cart free with the new Free mode in CS-Cart Ultimate. In the Free mode, you have access to the basic eCommerce features (see the comparison chart.)

Russian Build is also available, though we temporarily to not sell new Multi-Vendor Russian Build licenses.

See the changelog for the full list of changes in CS-Cart 4.0.1.

You are welcome to post bug reports in our Bug Tracker.

Read more about this release in our blog.

UPD: Professional license is not accepted in CS-Cart 4.0.1 Ultimate yet. We'are working on it.

UPD: CS-Cart Professional license can now be used to activate the Full mode in CS-Cart 4.0.1 Ultimate

Wow, finally! Congratulations to cs-cart team's hard work!

It seems that the download link for multi-vendor v4 edition is not updated yet?

Great news! Now we can begin with moving our webshop to release 4. Any news on when a import tool will be released?

I would think that not having a store import tool in this release will be a big impediment to people upgrading.

The CS-Cart Blog previously stated the Store Import addon would be available around 4.0.2 or 4.0.3, yet the 4.0.1 changelog states:
[!] Add-ons: Store import: Alternative text for images was not imported. Fixed.
So, if you've fixed bugs in the Store Import addon, why isn't it included? There are still bugs logged on Bug Tracker which have not been fixed in 4.0.1 yet bugs are being fixed for something which - for now - is irrelevant.

On one store, I run V2.2.5 Professional. I would like to install V4.0.1 Ultimate (since Pro is discontinued) as a subdomain, and re-develop the site design, in time - hopefully - for the store import addon to be ready later this year. This creates a bit of a headache…the V4 store will turn into the limited Free mode if I do not enter a license key within 28 days. This store has a valid subscription for another 11 months. How do I obtain the Ultimate license, since the Pro license is no longer of any use except on my current live 2.2.5 store. Can I keep my 2.2.5 Pro store running live with the V4.0.1 Ultimate site as a subdomain, with the aim of converting 2.2.5 to 4.0.1 by the end of the year.

When will it show in File Area on the Customer dashboard to download? Does it require a different license key from Professional edition? We do have the Lifetime upgrade

Hello,

We understand this may be an issue for those willing to upgrade immediately; we really hate to make those people wait.

We will do our best to release the import tool as soon as possible.

Sorry for the mistake, we'll clear the changelog up. Thanks!

Unfortunately, you will not be able to use the same license in both CS-Cart 2.2.5 Professional and CS-Cart 4 Ultimate.

Although, if you plan to start customizing the CS-Cart 4 Ultimate store, the Free mode should not be an obstacle. You will be able to import your data from CS-Cart 2.2.5 to your CS-Cart 4 store when the import tool is released.

Also, your Professional license will continue to be valid with the your new CS-Cart 4 store (if it replaces your old one.) Your subscription will also remain active.
I'm confused… If I have an active license/upgrade plan for professional, I can use that license to install this version? I just tried this on a clean install and it will not accept my current license number…

You are right. We apologize for the confusion, your Professional license will be accepted in Ultimate within several days.

We have to make some updates to our server, will surely announce that.

Hi,

I just install and choose trial mode, and after 10 min popup arrives :))

Store mode has been changed

The 30-day trial period is over. Your store has been automatically switched to the Free mode.

Note that only basic set of eCommerce tools is available in the Free mode.

In order to use the use software in the Full mode, you must purchase the full commercial license and enter the license key on the Store mode page in.
Imac, Thanks for the fast response and clarification!

OK. So its released, but its not possible to upgrade our websites. So asides from the important fact that we can begin skinning and modding, its not usable yet. Do you have any idea when it will be possible to upgrade our websites to CSC4?

Also a very important issue in your blog here:
A CS-Cart 3 installation cannot be upgraded to version 4 via the built-in Upgrade Center, but it will be possible to copy the most essential data (products, orders, users, etc.) from a CS-Cart 3 database to CS-Cart 4.
Do I understand it correctly that there will be significant data loss for those who have filled their systems with a lot of data?

What data exactly will be transferred and what will be lost?

Dear Valentin,

Where did you download the package (file area or download page) and what edition?

Dear imac,

I downloaded from https://www.cs-cart…ad-cs-cart.html and the version is CS-Cart: version 4.0.1 ULTIMATE

I happening maybe because i have installed also 4.0.1 beta and rc in the past on same domain

This all sounds like a re-run from version 3.

Store import not ready again! New sales must be most important!

When I upgraded from 2 to 3, It was a nightmare. I even paid cs team to do it for me and I lost most of my pics and other stuff any how.

I think StellarBytes had the best idea staying with v 2.2.5 the all time best.

I can not keep going on like this. (And I won’t)

All I can say is  and

Totally agree with this. Such a hassle.

Is there going to be a V4 subforum here on the forums so we can keep the V4 threads seperate from V3 since it seems the code has changed signifigantly?
