Most advanced menu for cs-cart

Hello everyone,

Since we've worked on so many custom stores, and each client wanted a different type of menu, we decided to create a menu add-on which would cover almost all options possible in terms of displaying content into a menu.

So we've created, what I strongly believe, the most advanced cs-cart menu.

The menu can display
[]Categories and subcategories

[
]Filters (based on any type features except default price filter)

Or other menus
The other menus can contain everything from above + pages or even products

And each type of display can be customized on how many columns to be displayed from 1-6.

The root level element can be any of the types above (yes, you can put product names with direct link from a drop down menu if this is what you want, or filters, or any other feature)

The possibilities to display your content using this is almost unlimited.

We can have for example 6 root elements in main menu, each with 6 columns, each column with 15 elements thats a total of 540 elements in a menu.

It uses the selected number of elements within a menu from menu settings (second level and third level elements ) however, you can chose to display it on more columns

Maybe your store has a feature which you want to include directly in the menu.

Maybe Brands, but you have 100+ brands.

You can split those into 2 parts, or more.

You could create a column with Top brands, and use all other 5 columns for the rest of the brands

If the number of elements exceeds the block’s settings, a link with view more will be displayed under it.

Please have a look at our demo, I`ve created several menus playing with all the above

categories in menu, subcategories, filters, info pages or products, on one or more columns.

The titles for columns are “Type of menu + nr of columns used + what it should be”

On the brands menu, you will see, the same content is displayed on several columns.

Please tell me what your thoughts.

DEMO available here: http://cs-cart.seoni…ddons/index.php

PS. Please do not tell me the links are pointing to a wrong product, because those are configurable, it is a demo, and I did not want to spend to much time on proper product setup.

The Style for the menu is used from default cs-cart dropdown.css, so it will work even on custom stores.

Really good. Is there also the possibility to add images or html?

So how much is it, where can we download it chaps ?

Can I dispaly picture in the menu?

How much is it?

It is a beta version at the moment, just checking if we need something else to implement in it.

A html could be included.

About images.

How would you want to display images?

We are talking about Category image

Subcategory images

Sub Sub category images

Features images

Product images

Those would be a lot of images in the menu.

Also, where should it be displayed ? and how big it should be ?

Looking forward to your feedback

How about including a RSS link, well one that works anyway.

Any link can already be added. Doesnt matter if its a rss link, a sitemap link, a page link or a product link. It can be done already

Im not plugging the company here and it's certainly not an affiliate link or anything but regarding images, I quite like the way the images in the menus on this site are laid out… I was going to do something similiar for my site.

I was more talking about a banner image on the side, for example. Which could be done with simple html or some other trick. Maybe it's also an idea to add a funtion, so you can choose which category or feature or filter should be shown with an image. This way you can attract attention to certain categories or features.

I think he wants this: Barn Light Electric | An American lighting manufacturer

My favorite mega menu with images is this one:

http://www.fauchon.com/en/

But there are two other great examples in the posts above. I like both the Barn Light and the Hosting Company's menus. They are both different from the standard “category image included” designs. I really want to add a mega menu that includes banner options for each category - if I could just get close to what fauchon.com is doing…

What I need is the ability to

  • attach an image banner for the special promotion under this category
  • manually add links to website pages/contents

I already said the ability to add links to ANYTHING can be done (categories/ subcats… products, pages, filters… etc…)

And for banners, I think the easiest way would be a html block.

But we will try to see if there is a friendlier way to do it.

I agree, html would be most flexible so we can put whatever we like in there and make it look like we want.

In a multi-column menu, can you put two or more blocks of menu in one column?

Because some category has less menu items, some has more menu items. It would visually look good to make them same height.

any update for this addon?

I would like to be able to display category images at the top of each column, with subcategory links under it. In categories that do not have subcategories I would like to display larger images.

For some storefronts I would also like to only display category images in categories that do not have subcategories.

The aforementioned menus from barn light and Fauchon are good examples of what I need.

Here are 3 other examples which showcase needed functionality:

http://codecanyon.ne…preview/2488854

http://themes.pixelw…egaMenuReloaded

http://themes.pixelw…MenuCompleteSet

One thing that I need is to define design and javascript rollout effects per storefront. (CSC4 Ultimate)

Is it possible to keep the drop down open until the user closes it? (onclick) Like this: Slide-Down Mega Drop-Down Menus with Ajax and jQuery

I hope that helps. When will this be available for CSC4?

Any add-on for menu with category images?
