Any large sites run on cs-cart?

You can found a number of selected CS-Cart-powered stores here: http://www.cs-cart.c…ive-stores.html

Also, here are some more stores built on CS-Cart platform:

Thanks Vladimir. We built the onlinelighting.com.au website which is one of the largest online stores for lighting in Australia. We've also built other large online stores using this platform. Another one we are currently working on will have over one million products for sale.

Our online stores are supported by our own cloud hosting infrastructure and built by our own developers in our Sydney office.

Thanks for listing the website Nigel!

Nice list. :)

A BIG “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO” TO CS CART.

its ok if you have 100 or 500 products and around 50 users on your shopping cart. but if you have a big database like 1.5 lakh products and more than 60000 users then cs cart will break down your business and leave you crying.

We are facing this problem aince a month and we are everyday in touch with cs cart team. 1st they told us that there is server related issue so we have to contact our hosting provider. We did that, hosting people told that they are ready for everything just tell them what is required, again we contacted cs cart but they told that they don't optimize client's server, we said ok! just tell us that what is the problem with the server and we will get the problem sorted out at server end, they told us to increase memory of some DIR. Our server peoples have done theat instantly and also told that if still any configuration related requirement then they will sorted that out. Problems are still same, again we contacted CS cart but no solution. We hired someone for server optimization assuming that there might be some problem at server side only, the guy has done his best on server optimization but problems are still same.

Now CS cart peoples told us to do some settings on some files, we done all the settings described by them but started getting some new errors along with the errors which are continue.

They hardly take action on a problem. there popular lines on reverting of a mail are “We will contact you at the first opportunity. However, I am afraid that our technical support department is loaded heavily at the moment. You should expect our answer not earlier than in 2-3 business days. We apologize for any possible inconveniences.”

Seems that we have taken a wrong decision by moving on to CS cart. Everything was ok till we were mainting 1500 products, they day since we increased number of products everything is broken down(Server and website both)

I sugest you to go for a better solution than CS Cart as we are going to do, after all your business health matters a llot for you.

Did you apply any form of special caching, or apply anything else to make CSCart work for a high traffic site?

Do you use lightspeed cache, varnish or similar?

We do a special form of caching which speeds up the website a lot. It also gives a 90+ rating for Google Page Speed and Y!Slow. We also run our own cloud hosting infrastructure so we don't rely on any hosting companies and do our own server optimisation. Onlinelighting doesn't have the caching turned on at the moment because changes cannot be seen immediately.

Hello shoppingmantra,

Thank you for the message. My name is Pavel Zyukin, I am the head of the technical support department at CS-Cart.

First of all, please let me say that I am sorry to hear you have experienced this problem which harms your business. I have carefully read your communication with our technical support engineer in the corresponding Help Desk ticket. I have noticed that all the errors you described in the corresponding Help Desk ticket are server-related ones. It means that these are not problems caused by a CS-Cart bug or by poor-written source code. For example, you had the following MySQL error:

Error: Got error 28 from storage engine (1030)
Query: SHOW COLUMNS FROM cscart_stat_requests

This is one of the most simple MySQL queries which can be applied to any MySQL database just by changing the table name to the corresponding one. However, the error with code 1030 means that no free disk space is left on the server. In your case, most probably, there is no free disk space left on the partition where the directory /tmp is located. So I strongly recommend you to contact your server administrator and ask him/her to check the free disk space on all the hard disk partitions of your server, especially on the one with the directory /tmp.

Also, please note that CS-Cart can handle 150,000 and even more products in the database. For example, one of our clients has a CS-Cart store with over 3 million unique products stored in the database (if you wish, I can send you a link to this store in a personal message). As I already mentioned, in your case the problem is a server one. We found a bottleneck of the problem and provided you with a description of how to resolve it, so now only your server administrator can resolve it for you as long as the problem is not in CS-Cart code but in your server.

As regard the delays, indeed, a week ago we had a lot of messages from our clients and we had no ability to answer them as soon as they were received. Also, I have noticed that some of your last messages were posted last Saturday and Sunday. These were non-working days of our technical support service, that is why you did not receive timely responses to your messages.

I apologize once again for the inconveniences you have experienced because of the delays in our responses. I would like to assure that we will do our best to assist you in resolving the problems. I personally will look on the process. Should any questions arise during the communication with our technical support engineer, please do not hesitate to ask them in the Help Desk ticket.

I hope we will manage to resolve the issues soon together. Thank you.

Hi Pavel, Does this error also relates to the server --------------------------------------Error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '/tmp/#sql_ccf_0' at line 1 (1064)

Query: SELECT SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS products.*, descr1.product as product, MIN(IF(prices.percentage_discount = 0, prices.price, prices.price - (prices.price * prices.percentage_discount)/100)) as price, GROUP_CONCAT(IF(products_categories.link_type = 'M',

i have 18000 products and 12000 users but no problems (not as many as you but still a few)

John

We have increased the size of /tmp dir from 4gb to 15GB yesterday. Unfortunately we are still getting the same errors and website once again got broken down. If you want us to plant a new hard drive of 1-2 or 10 TB for /tmp file then let us know so we can do that also.

We manually deleted all the files within /tmp dir but within two minutes it created lots of huge files automatically. Still if you feel it’s a server error then let us know what shall be done at server end, we will get it done. We are losing business since a month seems there is no option rather than going for a better software which can handle such a huge database.

You keep starting you have a huge db but then say you only loaded 20k products. That's not huge. Is mySQL configured to use /tmp for temporary storage? If not, the increasing won't do any good. Why don't you just hire a systems consultant who can diagnose and resolve your problems? Believe me, it's not a cart issue. Obviously your hosting provider is not capable of diagnosing and resolving your problem. If you spent $500 you'd be well ahead.

We have more than 1.5 lakh products on our server but problems started since we uploaded the 1st bunch of products of 20000. CS cart team told us to get the size of /TMP increased as this is the only problem, so we got that done but that was not a solution so now there can not be problem at server end

Hello shoppingmantra,

Thank you for the reply.

Starting from your question about the MySQL error You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '/tmp/#sql_ccf_0' at line 1 (1064), I should say that yes, this is a server-related issue as well. It means that the MySQL server cannot create/update the file #sql_ccf_0 in the /tmp directory (partition) and most probably it is due to insufficient space in this directory.

I am sorry to hear that increasing the available size of the /tmp directory did not help you. Please let me explain you how exactly the /tmp folder is used by a MySQL server. When some data loaded from the database are to be ordered or sorted in any way, the ORDER BY or SORT BY MySQL clauses are used in a query. When such a MySQL query executes, MySQL server selects all the necessary data and puts it to the /tmp directory on a server so that it could be sorted/ordered there at the next step.

What I would like to say is that, unfortunately, I cannot tell you how much free disk space should be allocated on the partition with the /tmp directory of your server. It depends on particular queries and the size of your CS-Cart store database. The more data size is selected from the database, the more free disk space needs to be allocated in the /tmp directory.

I would like to ask you to provide us with a compressed database backup of your CS-Cart store and the name of the CS-Cart page on which you have the mentioned problems. Please send it to us via our Help Desk system. Our technical support engineers will examine the information and might provide you with a proper solution. Maybe some tables of your database could be decreased significantly in the matter of their size without harming your CS-Cart store and the problem will be resolved for you.

Finally, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the /tmp directory is a service one used by a MySQL server. Neither PHP software (including CS-Cart) has control over the content of this directory or force a MySQL server to use it in some specific way. This MySQL server behaviour is controlled only by its internal settings. For example, your current MySQL server settings forbid deleting any temporary files and it results in a quick filling up of the /tmp directory. Please hire a MySQL expert that can check it for you.

We are looking forward to your reply in the corresponding Help Desk ticket.

Thank you.

Thanks for the detailed reply. We sent you the database file. As far as the name of the error page is concerned, we would like to clear that there is not a particular page which has the error, there might be any page which creates the error, for more information, please look at the log files thru the admin panel. Thanks once again.

Hello shoppingmantra,

Thank you very much for the database backup provided. We will continue communicating with you via Customer Help Desk, if you do not mind. Our technical support engineer will contact you in the corresponding Help Desk ticket at the first opportunity.

Thank you.

We built add-ons, modifications and templates for a lot of big sites.

They never had problems. But each site has a performant hosting.
