Job proposal

Hello everyone, we would like to develop new add-ons for cs-cart. Our team got a lot bigger and we can handle more projects.



I was wondering if I could find several members of cs-cart community who are sharing the same interest for a custom add-on. The add-on will be sold later as a product on our website (so we will support a part of the development costs also). The first members interested in this job will receive this add-on at a lower price.



Maybe integration with XERO or other accounting softwares, or Inventory management, or anything that cs-cart lacks at the moment.



Please do not post your interest for simple modules, or easy ones. We like challanges, hard and complex jobs.

What I would like to see is a full-fledged review system, with social network integration, that will email a customer after a specified period asking them to review products they purchased and encouraging them to share their reviews on Facebook, Twitter, etc. and possibly offering them rewards for doing so (discounts, gift certificates, etc.). May be, but once again, it requires a third party…MailChimp. What I'm asking for uses CS-Cart only and requires no third party services. Also, social integration.

i do not even know what mail chimp is, so I know my script doesn't use it or require it. To add social networking to the existing mail auto responder wouldn't be that hard, maybe SEONID would like to do. I am too busy to take on this work.

A customer support system with tickets, overview of information pages and self-help would be interesting. Compatible with Ultimate / multiple storefronts.

We currently use Kayako but that does not integrate well with CSC and is not compatible with Ultimate.

As mentioned above: a good reviews system that expands on CSC functionality would be very useful.



Another thing that is definitely lacking in CSC is a good store locator. The store locator in CSC is horrible. CSC does not offer a nice way to showcase your brick and mortar stores. There is so much that can be done there. The same goes for directing your customers to retail resellers.



Another thing that is lacking (but several companies seem to be working on a SaaS version) is a good shipping solution addon that integrates with all major shipping services(UPS, TNT, FedEx, USPS, DHL), provides simple printing of shipping forms, invoices, DYMO, tracking in customer account, email / sms updates of shipping status, etc. Preferably not SaaS.

Just to be clear on the type of job we would like to complete.



I am also sick of SaaS and recurring payments. Even if its 5$/month services pile up so much at the end of the month.

The project I am looking for is the type of one time fee (and life time usage) with free updates for a period of time. Also, all code will be downloaded and installed on customers servers without any other 3rd parties involved.



Until now, from what I see from your proposals, a good review sistem sounds interesting. I am viewing this similar to a “tripadvisor” for products, in which communities build up around products of interest. This can be expanded so much more, even to user profiles who are making reviews. I am talking about user ratings also because some of them with good intentions and reviews can have certain authority in their domain of expertise and their recommandations can really count. Sounds interesting.



Other ideas ?

I agree and would purchase a full fledged review system. I'd want the customer to be able to post the review within the email and submit it to cs cart. Would also be nice if customer could upload a picture of their product.





I'd like to see a “Custom Quote/Invoice” addon. I know snorocket used to have something like this, but I could never get it to work and don't think it is supported anymore or compatible with version 3. Basically a customer fills out a form to request a quote. It is stored in the admin section and the admin quotes the job. It will send the quote to the customer along with a link to purchase the quote instantly.

I would like to see the customer lured into posting a review by promising a discount reward.

This already exists with our auto_mail addon. You'd simply need to add the coupon code to the template info…

Understood, however, that type of job is a 8 hour job, and not quite challenging. If you really want it, we can do it custom for you, unless there are other several members who want it.

I really like the concept of customers being able to post reviews straight from the email. So it seems the most logical to have the coupon functionality included or integrated.

Hi, how about creating a kick ass “Auction Addon” for MV 4 ? I am sure it’ll help a lot of Store Owner.

Or How about creating an addon with “Listing Fee’s” (Charge listing fee per product) and Special Membership Addon, this too will help a lot of MV Stores out there. :-)

How about an addon that integrates the CS-Cart Shipments with a postage service like Stamps.com, UPS Worldship and FedEx?

I think a lot of CS-Cart admins are retyping customer addresses into shipping applications - not to mention the tedium of manually entering tracking numbers.

I would like to see a new Type for Global Product Options (and non global on a per product bases). I would like “Product”. This is where one or more Products could be added as options. The weight of the product and price would be added to the “Parent” Product. Several carts have this feature (not too many). The Product Type Option would probably have to be restricted to products that do not have options themselves. The product used as an option may or may not be sold as an individual product (Hidden on website). Inventory on the option which is a product would be globally adjusted for that product.



I had to be very creative and had to clone 200 products to achieve the above, but have no inventory control for the options I use as products and needed a custom script to import into

Quickbooks. I need a built in addon for this.



After this, I would like to see global option groups with global exception combinations that could be linked to products





I also think that there are many good ideas on User Voice that just are not being worked on by cs-cart, that I feel a third party could look at and make a mod for them, possibly enhancing the feature set that was originally stated.

I'd like to see an addon for CS-Cart's Newsletters.

The features implemented by CS-Cart are limited to Plain Text & HTML input fields for the body of the message, and 5 variables for the content. There's not even a variable for the subscribers name. Currently, you can't select a single product for inclusion in a CS-Cart email Newsletter - you have to write all your own HTML manually.



A Newsletter module for a shopping cart should include:

The ability to add products: images, data and URL to the body of a message via templates that insert the newest products or manual selections.

Add Cart Promotions with description, URL, expiration date, etc. (Why don't promotions have a graphic?)

Add Catalog Promotions with products.

When a message is sent to a customer about an abandoned shopping cart it should includes the images, data and URL of the products that are actually in the cart.

Same for wish list notifications.

Plus:

Conversion reporting - instead of just click counts. (Campaigns are already set up - but they don't report anything…)

An interface that formats the background of email with color or image would make creating Newsletters and Campaigns much easier.

The ability to send email messages to all registered customer accounts, instead of just mailing lists.

The ability to send email messages to inactive accounts based upon a date range of last order.
