CS-Cart Upgrades modifies Custom Skin

I've created a “custom” skin based on the “Basic” skin so that any Upgrades will NOT affect the look of the site. This is not working as hoped. I recently upgraded to v3.0.5 and my custom skin was modified.



Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how I can avoid it in the future?

Custom skins will always be changed if there are any changes to the core files for the upgrade. How else will bug fixes and new features be done to your site?



if you want to make your upgrades more painless, then I'd suggest learning how to use hooks.
