CS-Cart 3.0.5 Released

Hi!

Today we have released CS-Cart 3.0.5. It is available in both international and Russian builds.

In this release, we have focused on improvements and polishing. The international build does not include any new features, and the Russian build has some new shipping methods and add-ons (see the changelog).

The full list of changes can be found on our site.

Read more in our blog.

As usually, your comments, ideas, and bug reports are very welcome.

That’s good but 3.1.1 is the major improvement and new features waiting for the action :)

Can you give us any information about official new skins that may launch with 3.1.1? I found this today:

I really hope the Ultimate Google Sitemap bug has been fixed as indicated in the changelog, that particular bug is driving me crazy.

5 minutes of altering the CSS counts as a new template? That’s almost as bad as some of the skins cowboys that appear on here

I have no idea. I was just asking a question… Is CS-Cart team working on official new skins that will launch with 3.1.1?

I believe the last known public statement was that they would be adding new skins “in a future release”, bearing in mind this was said upon the release of v3.0.1.

Played around with the 3.1 demo this morning, it looks really nice. One thing that really bothers me is the search column on the left hand side, is there a way to get rid of that? Takes up a lot of valuable space in my opinion and is not really necessary, a small search window up top is adequate.

3.1 isn't publicly available, not even as Beta as far as I'm aware. The CS-Cart demo is still on 3.0.4 but would expect it to be upgraded to 3.0.5 in the near future.

Which 'search column'? In a default V3 install using the only template - 'Basic' from 3.0.1 to 3.0.5 - the search field is in the middle of the header, adjacent to the logo.

Do you mean the 'Product Filters' block as shown on the Category Demo page? This block can be disabled completely, or you can disable each filter individually. In the demo install, the filters on the Electronics products are 'Operating System', 'Display' and 'Storage Capacity' as shown in the category demo link above.

3.1 admin can be tested in the labs but is the store front view anywhere

3.1.1 can be viewed at

and

I really hope this problem gets fixed in 3.1: cs-cart ultimate - being able to turn off add-ons per shop - Wishlist & Feature Requests - CS-Cart Community Forums

Thanks for that, forgot all about the Labs. Front end…no change. Back end…worse. Hope this is far from production.

Agree, Not sure why they insist on constantly updating the look of the Backend. Especially if things looked and worked well in the old version. They keep ignoring items that need major updates (i.e. Configurator, product options, buy together, promotions, etc)

Cosmetic changes to the Backend are a waste of time in my opinion. Store owners want functionality, not wysbang cosmetics.

Because they are developers and not merchants. Always more fun to do something new than to fix/redo something that is “old hat”…

the demo site for 3.1.1, cool. ^_^

I like some things in the new admin area but it looks like this will (AGAIN!) ruin all edits / add-ons all of us did to the backend. We (your users) are really not waiting for that. We want to run our stores, not act as an IT department with every update!

Regarding the looks: I honestly like the old look better. Much more polished. The new look is a bit cramped and doesn't look as chique as the current one (which most of us really like). I assume the new one isn't fnished at all yet.

Good news :)

It's a bit hard to comit to extra plugins when the source code changes so often. To do so means for most plugin you need to pay on-going maintaince cost which double the cost of the plugins.

I would rather csc add the simple features missing like auto currency updates.

One reason I've been seriously considering ditching CS-Cart for a hosted solution.

I like 2x backend, new specious does not attract me at all. Functionality not changed at all.
