Austpost

I have Australia Post working perfectly.

Package dimensions are not required since AusPost uses weight calculations.

Both realtime and manual work without a hitch.

I’m certain that the fault lies at your end or else you’re using a limited version of cs-cart

Hi jesseLeeStringer, i am trialing the new 1.3.5 and i cant see how australia post works, if i am selling computers according to australia post it only takes weight IF dimensions are in range, some of my products will not be inrange, how would i use Aus post here then?
Australia Post assesses charges for parcels according to their actual or cubic weight equivalent, which ever is greater.

To ensure an accurate assessment please enter the dimensions of your parcel to determine if cubic charges apply.

For more information please contact your local Post office
Hi Gamelodge,

/admin.php?target=settings§ion_id=Shippings#settings–aup

Add 10 into the units area.

I’ve got my autoparts set as dimensions 10x10x10, with weights added per products. This way I both get a semi-accurate dimension per-product and semi-accurate per Kg rate. So far all my processed orders have been accurate to within the dollar.

At the present moment there’s not real way around this as far as coding goes (honestly we’ld want to place dimensions in per products :()

Is the Austpost realtime calc suppose to calculate for the post code?

Cause I can put in postcodes in different states and the postage is always the same.

Hi Kogi,

Yes, Auspost calculates by Weight / Shipping Box / Postcode.

Annoyingly mine doesn’t, I’ve put in post codes to different states and the postage stays the same.

Anyway, I’ve shot off a message to support

pm me with a login to your store, will see what I can sort out.

Thank you Jesse, your help is much appreciated
How do you set realtime for Austpost ? Do you just have to enter the weight of each product when you add as a new product ?

I added GST to apply to Australian customers. The cart caculated 10% of $20 as $1.82 ?
GST is not calculated on the final price, ie. you cant just take 10% of the final cost and say that is your GST component.

You must calculate GST on the base price.

To find the GST component of a total figure you need to use the formula;

Final Price / 11 = GST component

so 20 / 11 = $1.82

I initially thought that the Australia Post implementation was wrong, but I figured a way around the little problem.

Under ‘Shipping Settings’ I put the package dimensioons as 10cm x 10cm x 10cm. And in the product page I put in either the cubic weight or actual weight, depending on which is the larger one.

Cubic weight is calculated by: width (m) x length (m) x depth (m) x 250

Eg, actual weight 6kg - package dimensions 30cm x 30cm x 20cm

Cubic weight = 0.3m x 0.5m x 0.2m x 250 = 7.5kg

Therefore I will put 7.5kg as the products weight
