Ok lets get down to what really matters here.

Review Cs Cart as a Seo cart. Because that is what matters.

H Tags every where ect ect ..

Only way to have a succseful ecommerce site is to mod the heck out of cscart. Time, money and more money.

And that is after spending hours figuring out cscart files ect .. And spending considrable time on this site using the search function trying to find a answer if there is any.

NUMBER 1 reason should be Seo when buying a cart

Funny thing I notice about the forums is people more concerned with modding everything but SEO.

There are some but it is nominal.

So try basing your reviews on SEO.. Cscart fails.

And if you think not I will gladly list many many seo failures of this cart. Some put in by the developers that make ZERO sense.

Not everyone markets through search engines or wants to give up a big percentage of their profits to Google AdWords.

Other marketing methods are much more effective and much less costly. However, SEO is basically free if you can keep up with its changes.

Be interested to hear your SEO complaints hopefully as a bullet list of problems with maybe an example link into the demo store (or your store) where the problem exists.....

google is a good source of food, but they change fom meat to veggies to meat to rice to meat etc... you never know what they want and that't the point...

now they are doing equivalent mappings... the round ting that bounces will be in results for balloons.

don't put your biz on google only you will surely break and die.

as far as this review... you put CE magento VS paid CS-CART ?

why is that ?

we put more then the 15k a year in dev for cs-cart, as soon as we get it up theres a major version that breaks everything we wrote.

so from my side... i paid more then the price of commercial magento..

im running 4.0.1 and it doesnt even show the updates avail in panel. i have paid around 1k in licenses to cs-cart yet,

4.01 is running more smoothly and faster then all other versions... the key is not to mod the product pages to much because of the way it's written.

to much ajax that moves or acts upon DIVS and nothing is documented.. so after 3-4 hours of work you could realize you needed that div you removed for this or that reason lol (like it could add a hidden option in it dynamically via jquery and you didnt know)

the problem with cs is communications, there are to many ways to communicate, feedback/forums/bugs/ideas etc..

they should concentrate on one and use it 100%, respond to emails before 4-7 days and basically FIX bugs before features

overall im satisfied with 4+ before upgrade i was about to switch to another platform

this one is fast and doest the job, i do have lots of clients that have checkout HANG while on transaction , but notghing shows in logs....

Of course you don't actually have to upgrade. I work on sites from 2.2.4 to 4.0.3 and they all do well. Some of the 2.x sites do really well and we have no reason to upgrade them. They are making money and doing what we need to do with them and 4.x doesn't have anything these clients need, so no need to upgrade. Obviously if you are a person that wants to keep up with the newest thing and you customize CS-Cart, it is going to cost money to upgrade. But, if you are a person that just is happy with a site that is running fine and making money, the cost of CS-Cart is pretty darn low.

Thanks,

Brandon

Johnbol1,

Aren't you the guy that said he was doing six figures on his site ?

I responded by saying you get zippo for traffic and proved it and you never responded ?

Might want to try learning about Seo and then you may get some traffic instead of acting like you just got

Far as a list no problem

Just off the top of my head.

H1 tags galore.
h2 tags galore
h3 tags galore.

duplicate content galore. cat pages the next page button and all the rest produces duplicate content.

Why not have canonical links so this doesn't happen ? Wow what a idea ! I imagine 3/4 of the people don't even know what they are.

And the best part is it is on the forums for long time and yet the developers keep doing it.

My site is fine as I have spent a lot of time and money and fustration overcoming the seo problems not to mention half working add ons ect.

Just mind numbing the same problems that existed versions and versions ago and are talked about in the forums just keep coming out.

But hey we now have a theme editor now for people who don't know how to edit css. But if they do try to edit the css in the theme editor by using the custom css and make a mistake their site crashes.. Brillant ..

Look idiot, there is no way you could possibly comprehend what I am about to explain, however, there is far more to running a successful business than sitting in a cubical all day manipulating Google rankings, point is that when you do (which in your case is most likely never) become successful, you will discover that the world truly doesn't revolve stricly around SEO, there is far more to running a successful business than just being an "SEO Expert" such as you perceive to be! 8)

Idiot huh ..

Anyways Seo and traffic is everything for your store.

We own 3 brick and mortar stores for over 50 years. We do 1.5 million a year. So yea we know all about business.

I have owned and sold many many succesful sites.

But it sounds like I struck a nerve and you shouldn't expose your insecure side because of what I wrote.

Then again truth hurts and when truth hurts people who lack control over their emotions attack and act like a 12 year old.

Then again the words have no consequences behind a computer.

Best of luck to ya sport.

We did 7 figures with our webshop within 2 years, using cs-cart, hardly doing any seo tuning. All the H1 H2 stuff is about very small percentages that hardly make a difference anymore. Making a good site, that looks good, navigates easily, works well, and has honest, good content and products will win from SEO each and everytime.

Not being a dick also helps, btw.

I agree there is def room for improvement, but it really all ain't that bad.

These reviews are from 2012 and all products are closer to each other than ever before. The feature lists are not accurate for a lot of the products.

Yes, the comparasion is a bit old.
Main CS-Cart features comparing to other are
Layout manager
Theme Editor
Widget Mode
Promotions - very powerful system with hundreds of possible configurations.
Product Options - combinations, images for each variant, forbidden combinations etc.

Besides CS-Cart goes with 50 built-in modules which mean that you can have extremely powerful online online store from one vendor.
And performance. 93 google page speep scores - this is the best value for out-of the box shopping cart: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=demo.cs-cart.com&tab=desktop
