Stops at Placing the order. Please be patient...

Hi,



I’ve recently setup my store on my Windows 2003 Server with IIS and all seemed to be working well. I’ve got everything setup and have been adding products quite happily.



On my store people will be placing orders and selecting Purchase Order as their payment as thats how I operate my small business, which is the only option I allow on the store, i’ve disabled credit cards etc…



When I go through the purchase process, select Purchase Order and enter the Purchase Order information all seems ok until I checkout the order, then all I get is “Placing the order. Please be patient…” Nothing happens after this and the webpage just sits there. If i look in the admin view I can see the order, but the client just gets left at that message.



Any clues why it gets stuck?? I assume it should go to another page to confirm the purchase order has been completed??

We had a similar issue.



Have you tried disabling



AJAX(Javascript)-based “add to cart” button

AJAX(Javascript)-based pagination



to see if it fixes the problem?



Under Modules and Dynamic HTML

Can always turned it back on

I have tried disabling that but it does not seem to have made any different. Would I need to restart IIS for the changes to take place, or are they instant?



I’m not at the machine at the moment to restart but if I don’t need to restart then changing those settings does not seem to have made any difference :frowning:



Any other ideas?

They are instant. No need to restart. Pagination usually causes these issues

Hi Al, did anyone find a solution for this :confused:



We had to reinstall the site from a name based site to an IP based site on the same server (ours) so we could implement SSL, we havent done that yet because during testing after having moved it we found we have the same problem as posted here. Everything else seems to be ok, we can upload products, images, change pages etc.



There seems to be two things affected.


  1. exactly as origional posting above


  2. when creating a new user it hangs in the same way.



    We checked all the permissions and tried 777 on all files and folders, still no good.



    And tried all other hints on other posting, but none have helped.
