I have noticed something strange in your blog addon which seems to be a bug:

  • if you search your website for the word 'blog' the search engine will return a mass of results and show all blogs, instead of products and blogs that include the word 'blog'.

I ordered the blog addon to support further development. Categories, tags and name of author are all basic elements of a blog. Please add these in next version.

Dear P-Pharma, we've checked the search problem and it looks like this bug is connected with CS-Cart version of our site and not caused by the add-on.

We have enabled search per pages on our demo site (CS-Cart 3) and it is possible to see that the search by the word “blog” is working properly. Try it here http://demo.alt-team…patch=blog.view

Dear ghostrider, thank you for the purchase! We will definitely extend the add-on functionality providing the sufficient number of sales. We've noted down your recommendations and will try to include categories, tags and the name of the author in the next add-on version.

It is possible to show the blog index as the homepage? i.e. mysite.com/index.php

Hi alt-team, do you have plans to add categories and tags? Without categories and tags, there's not much difference between this addon and the news addon.

Dear ghostrider!

As promised we will add categories, tags and the author name in the default blog functionality.

Currently we are a little busy due to Christmas and New Year holidays that are coming up. The new version of the Blog add-on with the promised features will be released in January - beginning of February. Unfortunately we don't have time to do it earlier.

Hi Alt-Team!

It is possible to show the blog index page as the homepage for my website? i.e. mysite.com/index.php

How do I add a sidebar to the blog pages?

Hello P-Pharma!

Thank you for your questions!

Unfortunately there is not such a possibility and we don't plan to add it in the default version.

The default CS-Cart functionality allows to add side blocks. Please go to Design → Blocks, choose the necessary location tab (for example, Pages or Blog) and add the necessary blocks.

I will put in a paid modification request to allow the blog index to be the home page.

Regarding SEO optimized urls: Currently my urls display as:

/en/blog-name-en.html

How can I display blog articles as:

/en/blog-name.html

Also: Currently blog articles display on the sitemap as general information pages. This looks very messy, because blog articles quickly pile up and important information pages about payments etc, are lost in a sea of blog articles.

Is it possible to list blog articles on the sitemap under a blog category? Or otherwise to just turn the display of articles off on sitemap?

Yes, blog articles should be categorized under blog on sitemap. Please find a solution for this.

Dear P-Pharma,

Default SEO add-on allows to give seo names to your urls for pages. As for the general Blog page, you can set up a necessary SEO url in the add-on settings. Also as far as I know if you create clone pages or the pages with the identical titles, “en” can be added to an url automatically. Please check it.

As for the sitemap, thank you for this recommendation, you are absolutely right blog articles should be displayed under a blog category. We will try to add this possibility in the next add-on version.

There are no double or cloned urls in my system. I think the issue is created because by default CS-Cart adds the country to the end of the url. I have turned this function off, but the blog still keeps adding this even though its turned off.

Is “en” added to all your urls for pages or only for the pages with the enabled blog? Actually the problem seems very strange because Blog add-on shouldn't have any influence on SEO urls.

My products urls have this structure:

mydomain.tld/en/product-name.html

My information pages have this structure:

mydomain.tld/en/page-name.html

My blogs have this structure:

mydomain.tld/en/article-name-en.html

The -en should not be added to the url.

Please advise.

Dear P-Pharma!

Please contact us with this problem. The add-on developer will check your website and try to figure out what causes the problem.
