NEW Express, Ultra User Friendly Checkout System

After months of development, we have relesed a new checkout system for CS Cart. The reason behind this development was to offer a simpler checkout solution to help online businesses increase their conversion rates. This checkout system features:
[]Very simple, quick to fill out form

[
]It reassures customers about why all data is needed

[]Marks out clearly that all the data transmitted and transaction is secure

[
]Shipping costs immediately displayed (no hidden costs)

[]Very quick to load as its only one step

[
]Allows shipping to different address to what appears on the billing address

See http://www.directhealthstore.com.au/ for a live example of the checkout
Currently only available on 2.1.4 and 2.2.4 but can up upgraded/downgraded as needed for additional costs.

For any interested parties, we would duplicate your cart on our dev server and install there, which would allow us to identify any issues before installing on the live site. This is because the checkout is not a simple addon and we need to check the new coding does not affect any other functionality. The installation would involve some downtime but this could be done at whichever time is most convenient for your store.

Prices start from AU$2498 - this development was months in the making and the price reflects the work involved for the installation also.

Anyone interested can contact us here on or via the details below.

Good luck selling it at that price.

If you think about it, it is not that unreasonable.

Consider this, if your average online purchase is $100, then just 2 extra conversions per month cover the cost of the checkout over a 12 month period. When most studied put shopping cart abandonment rate at somewhere between 59-72% ( source: 14 Cart Abandonment Statistics - Please Submit More – Articles – Baymard Institute ) then a product that can reduce these figures can mean a major increase in revenue.

This checkout aims to address some of the top reasons for online shoppers not completing a transaction. Obviously this is not aimed at small businesses, but for stores with a moderate income, this could make a real difference.

Understood. I’m not trying to discourage you by any means or sound pessimistic, but from my experience on this forum, some shop owners are very price sensitive.

I’m all for conversion optimization and I like what you’ve done. I just think you’d have a better chance of selling 20 licenses at $500 vs. 4 at $2500.

Just my two cents. Regardless, good job on the module :)

Thanks, we think its a pretty nice addition to a cart.

We would love to sell it for less, unfortunately the hours involved in instalation alone mean the price needs to be that high. Realistically it requires 3-4 days of work on the dev cart to align all the settings, as well as thorough testing, the last thing we would want would be a checkout that didn’t work once implemented!

We could also explore the possibility of subscription deals if users with a lower budget were interested.

Plus, its always nice to recieve feedback when so much has been invested, sometimes you can be blind to obvious issues after months of work!

$2500? Ill pass. Id pay mbye $75 for it.

Hi

I understand the cost involved on that but I think the price is too high for a 280USD worthing software. At least for my market here in Greece.

And I need also to say that I am not so sure that people will be ok with that screen. It is too much information and it looks “scary” for the novice visitor/user.

Always speaking by having in mind the european market and especially my country.

I am more on the minimalistic side of things, like hidding things you dont need, keep it simple and maybe evolving the payment-shipping side of cs-cart by bonding those 2 together, meaning showing wich shippments for wich payments options are available and not all at once.

Anyway I wish you good sales.

Fotis

I tend to agree with the “too much info”… It looks a little daunting to be presented with all that info (and for some of us old guys), all the small font… Have you considered layering it vertically rather than horizontally? Might allow for a larger font and a bit more whitespace and format/break-up of the information…

I'm very interested in what your cart abandonment stats changed from/to. I.e. if you started with an industry average (there really isn't one, but…) of 60%, what have you see the abandonment drop to using this checkout page? Interested in before/after stats (with an adequate run-time to compare the two).

I've done quite a bit of statistics work on the initial checkout (login/register - step 1) for a client that requires registration (anonymous isn't an option due to fraud rates for their market). I've A/B tested about 6 different approaches with negligible difference between them. The best improvement came from telling the users “We require registration to reduce fraud and keep our prices low…” in a small area above the login/register area. But other than that, nothing seemed to help much.

Hi tbirnseth

nice report on your AB testing. Very interesting.

I would like to see a Forum sector for such practices. It helps a lot to read those stats.

And I would like to know the findings for this checout layout too if some available.

Fotis

Maybe for the amount of work the price is justified, but I think for most people here this is a figure they are not willing to pay. Also, to be honest, I don't really see a huge improvement. I agree with Fotis that it's quite a lot you get to see all at once.

Fotis, if you are interested in conversion: in one shop (with a high percentage of less tech savvy customers) we got a 14% (!!!) higher conversion rate by switching to cs-carts old multistep checkout and NOT skipping the 2nd step on a 2nd buy (this was a huge pain - people kept calling about this).

On all my shops (3) we have people go to the shopping cart first, and then checkout. Yes, it might take longer, but in my experience people like seeing a nice overview of their order before going to the “real thing”. I notice a lot of people also go to their cart page during shopping to get an overview, then return to shop again, add something, get a new overview and maybe delete something, and then really checkout.

Hope this helps.

Words from the Mother-In-Law - “What's this, and where do I start”

I understand that this pricepoint is considered high by others, personally it doesn't suit my business model. All that said I'm certain there will be a few people wanting to use it.

I have seen the demo, and I am pretty sure this will not work for my audience. Way too much info on page 1. The customer have not even figured out if he really, really wants the product and there you put in his face a full-size A4 paper loaded with fields to fill in.

Besides that; I believe that the checkout page is a good page to invest in to, because of the high amount of abandoned carts, but to take a chance with 2500 $ is a bit too much to test with.

It needs to be as simple as possible, preferably with no registration fields whatsoever.

Regards,

JJ.

I agree on that as I posted above.

Flow has also a very nice approach and I will be testing that. And the idea of making this addon vertical and horizontal is also very logical, as customers like to see right at the end for one last time some images for all the products they have in their order.

And I think you dont have any space for such an addition in there.

I found lately a nice Infograhic for the checkout process.

Fotis

I offer checkout with paypal, cc, paypal express and amazon.

Paypal express and amazon are used in about 75% of my transactions.

Paypal express and amazon is what makes the checkout process very easy and fast for the customer.

item is in cart and with a few clicks the sale is completed.

That is what i call express checkout, compared to what you offer at a super high price tag, paypal express and amazon are free to use.

The one page checkout showed in the demo seems overwelming almost intimidating.

It is all the checkout steps on one page.

People who by online are used to multi step checkout systems, and it makes sense to seperate the needed information in to seperate related parts.

honestly, i would not install it even if it is a free mod.

I am sure your intention are there, but several real express checkout systems are already available (PPexpress and Amazon)

Now that is the checkout process I would love to see in Cs-Cart!

Tim, Looks to me to be almost exactly the same as existing 1 page checkout for cs-cart (minor diffs only). Only real difference is tabs at the top versus banners across the page for each of the steps.

But we should probably start a separate thread for discussion of checkout (there have been many in the past) so we don't step all over this one which is geared toward paul.r's product.

In my opinion your checkout is very cluttered and not user friendly. Definitely a step backward.

Also, my rule of thumb is an addon to a shopping cart should never cost more than the cart itself.

Thanks for your software,

Im curious about this type of checkout, because my first opinion was 'Hell where must I click on?' and if you got a customer who's in a hurry I think he will leave your site immediately so my I was a little disappointed because the description says 'Very Simple'.

I also think its better if you align the 4 boxes horizontal with some white rows. More like the original checkout :S

Its also good to test it on usability with a few people.

Good Luck!

PS: I'm not trying to blame you, just trying to help telling my opinion.

For that price I wouldn’t expect an easier checkout for my customers I would expect you to come around and pack & post the good to :-)

Glad to see a developer create add-ons aimed at high end users of CS-Cart, that being said I must agree with everyone here that you have priced yourself out of the market, and should probably cosider much of the feedback here in an update.
