1.3.3 Rc2 Released

Ask and you shall receive!

CS-Cart version 1.3.3 RC2 is now available for download from your Helpdesk area!

CS cart has worked vigorously on this and hopes this resolves many of your issues. HOWEVER! This is a RC2 product. It’s for BETA testing by the users to flush out any bugs that may have been missed in internal testing. If you find a bug, please use the Bug Forum/Tracker and post it. For everyone to see and we will try and fix these issues ASAP. The more users that TEST this version and report back, the sooner we can release this as a LIVE release.

AGAIN, THIS IS FOR TESTING ONLY, NOT FOR USE WITH LIVE STORES.

I’ve downloaded it but have a couple of questions…

  1. The changelog doesn’t seem to include changes from 1.3.2 to 1.3.3 - or is this just because it’s an RC release? Thought I’d mention it incase the wrong file has been included in the archive or something (I’ve done it in the past!)

  2. Can I upgrade from this package or is it a fresh install only?

    Cheers

My guess is its not an upgrade, upgrade files have the term “upgrade” in the filename,…i think there is one 1.3.1_upgrade_to_1.3.2.gz or something in the filearea.

So w/o official work, I would guess its a fRESH install only.

Were hoping everyone at least tries the install and maybe use the demo data, and just look around…see if you find any glaring bugs…if we each do a little, it could help the whole project move a little faster…

Thanks everyone.

I have downloaded and installed the cart and have run into an issue, primarily with the admin side. Whenever I attempt to access a page in the admin section, my server basically comes to a grinding halt. I have a VPS server and have contacted the hosting company and they have confirmed that the CS-Cart script is causing the problem. They said that the script continually opens http and mysql connections over and over again to the point that I can no longer access anything. I am using SSL when accessing the admin section and am on apache 1.3 on a linux machine. Is anybody else running into issues?

UPDATE:

The catalog side seems to be working fine, but when I attempt to go to checkout, which also switches from http to https, the page fails to load. When using firefox, I get this error: “Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.” I have the browser set to accept all cookies, so I doubt that is the problem.

I havent entered an “unconfirmed” bug into the tracker for you.

Could you provide us with ftp access to server (through our customer’s Help Desk), where cart is installed?

Thought as much!

I’ll try a fresh install and have a look around if I can get the time.

Otherwise I’ll wait for the upgrade version.

Just out of interest… I’ve been modifying one of the skins, would it just be a matter of copying the templates and images to the new/test directory?

Cheers

Simon

1.3.3rc2 install went without any errors or issues on my Linux (RH7.3) server. Test order went through without any issues. I was even able to edit the order and resubmit without any issues.

So far, there are no issues to report. However, I have found that the most efficient use of my beta testing time is to know what to look for ahead of time. Can we get some kind of list of what’s new/changed? I’ve spotted a couple of new features which are cool, but other than that the cart appears to be the same.

Thanks,

Mike

Some pretty cool stuff! Under Settings > General > Users/cart, what does “Role based access to administrator area” when checked?

I experienced similar errors as compernicus. Once I tried modifying some of the General Settings and using HTTPS for admin access, the cart started spawning multiple sessions and the database began to increase at an unusual rate. Furthermore, I can no longer access the admin area of the cart.

05/08 Update - Applied HTTPS bug fix, secure admin area successful, testing secure orders

It Installed fine, I then logged into admin with admin/admin and while looks like it logged it fine, clicking on anything result in:

“Access denied

You must login before you can access that resource!”

The previous install was on my development server (Win Server 2003) running Apache 2.0, PHP Version 5.1.1 and MySQL 5.0.18.

I then next install it on my host w/ Linux, Apache 1.3.34, PHP 4.4.1, MySQL 4.1.18.

This second install of the CS-Cart 1.3.3 RC2 did not have the error the first did.

Controls access to the admin panel, so you can have like super admin, and designate product admin (only can view product info),etc.

I will aslo download and see what we have…

Bug with redirection to https fixed.

Is there an online demo of the new version. I would like to just check it out and see if find the new things we will need and be sure I don’t see any bugs with out installing another version…

I fight with the stable version as it is. LoL

Good idea Vortech maybe CS could let us have link so that we can check out the new version as I can’t get my to install? :frowning:

Then that maybe an issue…why can’t you install it? possible bug?

Don’t think so ETI, I didn’t install the cart initially as CS did it for me. I did read the CS manual but got completely lost so I am afraid it’s me and not the software LOL

Oh ok, just wanted to make sure, its not a cart issue that may effect others. is all…carry on.
