Upgrade from V2 to V3

I am planning to upgrade my existing shop from 2.2.4 to v 3 on a new server.

Steps are the following

1)install cs-cart v3 to my new server

2)backup entire database from old server 2.2.4 with phpmyadmin

3)restore the backup to the new server 3

Does anybody know if that process is working or not ? or any other way to do the upgrade process manually.

What I want to achieve is a fresh installation of cs-cart with all my data from my previous installation.

Hi there,

THere is a tool in version 302 that works with 225.[list=1]

[]You have to have a working site in version 224

[
]you then install the 302 in a folder

[]you run the tool from inside 302

[
]you test the new isntallation in 302 (the one in the folder) to see if everything is there.

Fotis

And after all that i had to move the new installation in my new server with the standard procedure.

Yes

You can do that by moving all files via SSH (compress and decompress) and download your db and reupload to the new server.

Dont forget to change your config.local.php (DB credentials, domain name maybe and folder)

Guys!

I have a doubt about this.

Are you sure that both versions have EXACTLY the same tables and fields?

I ask you this because some time ago I did a manual upgrade and it was not so easy like the OP described in 1st post.

You can take a look here:

At this time I need to upgrade from 2.3 to 3.0.2

I read that database structure is not the same from version 3 to old 2._ versions.

I am a bit lazy to do it manually again.

But… it is better than to not upgrade.

I have read that some people who upgraded from old versions had bugs in the new version.

For this I usually prefer to get the NEW version and upgrade everything by hands. Like translation, for example.

Good Luck!

If everything works fine, post here.

I have the new 3.0.2 version installed. Next steps will be more difficult, sure.

:)

Hi there

if you read my first post, you ll see that there is a tool for that now ni version 302

Yes they are totaly different db but skin folders also, thus addons structrure etc.

So no room there for manualy upgrading the mySql.
