Hi again
After I saw a post about the cookie law (http://forum.cs-cart…__fromsearch__1) it was a big coincidence that i bump to it exactly the same time I was trying to give a more elegant solution to my clients.
So here it is for all 2.2.x shops
You uplad files to your root, you install via admin and you need just to edit one file:
1.open in your active skin index.tpl
2.add {include file=“addons/eu_cookie/tpl/message.tpl”} right after the tag (around line 24)
3.save and clear cache (both)
thats it!!
you get a nice warning on top of the site when you visit your site for the very first time.

All text comes with translation through the language tab in admin

and the link for the privacy policy is eddiable through the Addons setting screen.

If you run into problems with other jQuery driven Addons like banner slideshow then check in Addon setting screen the Jquery Conflict checkbox.
Works fine with 2.2.x Community, Pro, MVC and FF, Chrome ie8 & 9
Enjoy and report any problems.

Thanks for this! It actually gave me another idea:
You could make this into another really cool add-on. A bit like the hello bar… where the shop can put latest messages, links to new products, etc. That would be pretty cool!
Thanks for this !
Hi Flow,
I actually already started a bottom bar for that exact idea with extra menus, newsletter and few products maybe…
I ll get back for that when I am ready.
Fotis
Cool. That would make a nice add-on… I prefer having it on top though like the hello bar. Hmm… I see they changed their pricing plan to 29,- for a developers license… that looks very interesting now to add to cs-cart… it's a great little tool with many options and statistics.
Ok
I will look into it.
In the mean time my friend Ilias from zeza.eu told me that in 225 when the eu cookie law is enabled then language and currency dropdown is not working. There was a js conflict. I fix that in the orginal post.
Please uninstall and install the new one…
Fotis
Installed on 2.24 pro an get message after
Fatal error: Smarty error: [in index.tpl line 1]: syntax error: invalid attribute name: '{if' (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 1546) in /home/hiviscou/public_html/lib/templater/Smarty.class.php on line 1095
John
So now the addon works fine on the drop down menu of languages and currencies

Do you have any other jquery driven Addons maybe?
The screen you see in the original post is 224 and aggelie.eu is 225 and works fine
Fotis
PS Did you also edit the index.tpl file in 24 line ?
You can see it on both my site:
www.zeza.eu CS MV3.0.2 Here I used the solution of friend EU cookie policy code :) - General Questions - CS-Cart Community Forums
www.aggelies.eu CS 2.2.5 Here I used the solution of friend Fotis BY DVS
both seem the same but changed the stylesheet.css I used the stylesheet.css file from the addon by Fotis
Thanks
Ilias
Hey Fotis
Nice work, we will be using this.
also works on the latest version of cs-cart.
http://www.fudgefeast.co.uk/
the files in the zip need to be in different places…
addons folder > as is
var folder> skins/yourskin/customer/addons
Placing it in the var folder does nothing. presumably because the var files arent ‘live’ files
Much better than my bodged together way
Hi,
After reading privacy policy and then accept the cookie the screen stay on the cookie screen.
Is it posible after reading policy and accept cookie to go to the main-frame instead staying policy screen?
Thanks.
hi
it could be but you need a totaly different addon, as the policy page is just a link and accepting the cookies is not related to what page you are in

Hi
If you just rename the folder base to basic in the var folder then it should work also in version 3.
I haven’t tried it yet, but that is the difference.
H Fotis
As I said before nice work but we have a little problem, with customers use Internet Explorer.
They get as far as stage 3 during checkout, when hitting the continue button nothing happens so the sale is lost or if we are lucky the customer may phone the order in.
That's how we found out about the problem, it works fine with Firefox but not IE
We are running V2.2.5
Any ideas?
Hi
wich version of ie is that?
And one more thing, have you used the latest version I uploaded, where I have a jquery switch? Did you try with that?
Fotis
PS I have tried this with ie9 and it work fine, but as said before I have the jquery conflict on!!!
Fotis, it's IE9 and we did install your latest version, had to disable it for now.
Hi,
Must be a kind of conflict with another addon, as I told you I had no problem even with community version.
I can look at it if you want.
Fotis
dvsgr very thanks for a great addon
hi
thank you too.
Please always test extensivly before you use it permantly, as it might come to small bugs depending on the addons and the cs-cart configuration you have.
Better safe than sorry!
