Hi, I wanted to know if it is possible to make the link to calculate shipping required some how before checkout? I have noticed that I am able to bypass that link and go to checkout where then the shipping costs are $0.00. How do we avoid this from happening?

My guess is you have something setup a bit weird. Do you have your default location filled out?
If so, erase it and try it again. It might be the reason you're seeing the $0,-

The calculate shipping does not have to be clicked to work out the customers shipping cost, this is just something the customer can use at that stage if they want to. The shipping will still be worked out at the next steps anyway if set up correctly. Have a look as Flow says at your shipping set up and make sure they are set up right.

This is something I don't like about CS and I think a lot of custom is lost as people bypass the shipping calculator (dim I know), and go to the checkout and see 0.00 for shipping - they can't get see exactly how much they're going to pay until they've entered several fields of personal data.
Personally, when I shop online I like to get to the checkout and see exactly how much it's going to cost me before I start registering etc.
I think what you're asking for is the mini cart in the checkout to show a shipping rate based on the items in the cart. If it could default to the lowest shipping cost this would be a bonus.

Hmm, I'm in the process of upgrading some stores to cs3 ultimate, and it looks like cs-cart made this even more stupid. People don't even see the shipping calculator anymore now, they have to click on a little icon in order for it to appear in a pop-up. This means the explanation I had in there is not showing anymore.

Does anybody know how to get back the shipping calculator like in cs2?
Unfortunately I think quite some things in the checkout and stuff are actually worse in cs3 then in cs2!
