While it looks like support is more of a DIY with ideas rather than a full on hack, we're big fans of PowerReviews [from BazaarVoice] which offers a self-service “express” product . Essentially you get most of what you'd find on an enterprise platform which helps not just in the display and seo of your reviews but also capturing more of them.

Power rating cost is very expensive and it is monthly price, better way is hire someone to make custom review addon for lifetime use.

Fair critique although it really depends on what you consider expensive [1% lift on a 500k run rate or 1% on a 5k run rate] and what you want out of your system. Building something simple, but attractive, internally is certainly going to save you a few dollars short term… trying to replicate a well done third party solution [whether PowerReviews or something else entirely] is going to add up to a lot more in the end. It's not just what you see that you pay for, it [or it should be] the expertise and effort that goes behind it to make it work right.



In any case I'd completely agree that everyone should crunch the numbers – your current sales, traffic and projected lifts. In many cases I see sites select the existing / small modification addon in the short term and moving up as their business grows but the last thing you want to do is save a few dollar years to lose that monthly.



Hopefully the OP shars more details to help hone in the suggestions.
