Ban a person from comments & revues ? Rate Topic   - - - - -

I have this one person in particular that keeps going to the same page (every day) and posts spam instead of an honest comment or review. Does anybody know if I can ban or block this person from submitting reviews? The only info I would have is an ip.

block their IP from the server itself.
Provide the IP to your administrator

I figured this out. I installed the add on Access Restrictions. Pretty cool. Now this person will be blocked from entering my site and will get a message. I can use ip addresses, email, domains, credit cards.This is a handy feature. Thanks CS-Cart. :grin:

jimmyod, this may not be the best option as this user may be using a dynamic IP connection, ie, their IP address changes everytime they connect to the internet. Also, you may end up blocking innocent buyers if this user uses a shared IP connection, ie, his ISP uses a proxy and thus all customers from such ISP appear to have the same IP address. If this is the case, then you'll block everyone and not just him.

Wouldn't it be best to simply enable moderation for the comments and reviews? You'd have to approve every single comment and review that comes in, of course, but then the spammer's comments and reviews won't show up immediately and you will be able to easily delete all of them.
