Hello.
Where is addon Quick Search in version 3 CS-Cart ?
Robert.
This add-on is deprecated, it will replaced with Searchanise in CS-Cart 3. Not only does it add search suggestions, but it also significantly speeds up search.

About the Searchanise. I think this is a huge mistake. I really don't like the fact that my site will have to use a 3rd party thing like that for something that should be built into the cart.

Also, Twigmo started out free and now it is like$10 per month. How long until the same thing happens with Searchanise? Talk about a quick way to loose customers.
Thanks,
Brandon

I am so glad that it still looks like the Searchinise garbage is optional!

I thought Searchanise called out to a different server, right? What if I don't want my site to communicate with other server? What if I want it like it is? Thanks, Brandon

The Quick search add-on is to be completely removed from CS-Cart 3. Searchanise is a far more efficient and versatile tool, that's why we put it in action in the first place.
If you want to continue using Quick search add-on in CS-Cart 3, you can take it from an older version and adapt it following the guide. Or you could use some help from our custom development department.
Another solution is to just continue using an older CS-Cart version, which includes Quick search.

For the record, I can confirm I shall cease all CS-Cart developments if such an integral store function such as the search becomes reliant on a 3rd party server or becomes a paid feature. The Quick search add-on is to be completely removed from CS-Cart 3. Searchanise is a far more efficient and versatile tool, that's why we put it in action in the first place.

Next, in addition to search requests, Searchanise processes all navigation requests(clicking on a category or a subcategory link) as well, which drastically reduces the load of the hosting server where CS-Cart is running. And our goal is to make it much much more cheaper to run a fast store with Searchanise rather than to use an expensive hosting to process high loads generated by search and navigation requests.

First of all, Searchanise is an optional service, it is up to you whether to use it or not in your store. And it will never replace the default CS-Cart search functionality. Yes, we will no longer support the Quick Search add-on, as its functionality is duplicated in Searchanise where it will be provided for free to all CS-Cart users(the only limitation is a number of products, which must not exceed 100,000).
Secondly, the main purpose of Searchanise is to improve product search and make it as fast as possible no matter how many products you have in the inventory or how many customers visit your store daily.
Yes, we will no longer support the Quick Search add-on.

Yes, Searchanise is being developed and owned by Simbirsk technologies, company behind CS-Cart.Is http://searchanise.com and its technology owned by cs-cart (Simbirsk Technologies)? It uses the same favicon and the only mention of it in Google is related to Cs-cart.
No, this is not a correct assumption. You can customize your CS-Cart as you wish, CS-Cart code is open, and you can adapt the Quick Search add-on from version 2.x to 3.x if you wish or use some third party solution - that's up to you. Searchanise is just to provide you with the same(actually with much more) functionality but via a different technological approach.Wow, so if we want to use something other than your "Searchanise" you basically say, "sorry about our luck". You do have an interesting reply! If you tell us we can "adapt" the old one in to the new, then why don't you just do it?

Is Searchanise going to be free for life? Or will it be like Twigmo?I would like to share some extra information on Searchanise.
Besides speed, Searchanise will provide advanced search features: fuzzy search, word forms(aka stemming), typo correction(did you mean? option).
