FREE addon: Accordion Menu (improved)

I downloaded this accordion menu addon from somewhere in forum.cs-cart.com and I did some little fixes (icons, paths, styles and language variables) and some improvements.

Now you can set “Mouse delay” from “No delay” to “1 s” (one second). In addition the number of category’s products was added and it will appear after the relative category’s name.

Also you can edit “accordion.css” according to your preferences.

Original credit is to Brandon from cs-cart.com forums.

It is tested to be working with CS-CART Pro and Multivendor v.2.2.4.

Community and Ultimate versions may work as well (not tested yet).

Just install this addon as usual. Under “Design” menu in admin area there is a new item for changing addon’s settings.

Do no forget to clear all the caches before using it!!!

Thank you very much.

This is great! Would love to see the vertical menu's tweaked in a similar way you see many websites have them… Similar to CS-Cart 3 actually! (Multiple Columns).

Have you created any other side category menu's that have sub-categories pop-out, and allow for a delay on mouseover and mouse off? (when mouse is moved off menu, do not collapse for 1000 or 500ms).

Thanks again!

Hi there,

After much inspiration from Tecchese i’ve made something similar! (Well I’m stuck at just after half way there…)

I’ve manually filled in the content and sub-content in the snapshot image below, however (hopefully) will be able to integrate it live into CS-Cart so that when categories are created, modified, moved or deleted; then these changes will be replicated into my menu, just as they are currently with the default CS-Cart menu and Tecchese’s menu above.

Enough talk, here is an example - note: you can see that a level is expanded, active category changes colour, and mouseover also changes the colour (image) of the main categories and sub-categories - e.g. Wall Clocks.

Would anyone have the patience and time to either please show me or please provide examples of how to integrate this into CS-Cart, similar to how Tecchese has successfully managed to?

Thank you very much!

2 x JS, 1 x CSS, 6 x IMG.

P.s. I’ll be happy to share this - so that others may benefit and learn how to make their own menu’s! :D

This is a great idea, but not fully compatible with CS-Cart 3.0.x.

I spent hours learning CS-Cart, and finally written an Addon called “oAccordion Categories” which is compatible with CS-Cart 3, and has got lots of themes to choose from with optimized javascript and upto 4 levels categories!

Just check out my website, on my profile page to find my works.

CS-Cart rocks and is a product which “IS READY FOR PRIME TIME”

Keep up the good work.

Hi there,

So your add-on expands and contracts each level of the categories menu without having to reload the page?

Does it support auto-closing a category when another category is opened? (i.e. a setting to turn it on/off so that categories stay open until close manually or auto closed when another category selected to expand.)

Will purchase if I can confirm no page reload is required. :)

Cheers!

Of course no page reload is needed for expanding/contracting levels of the categories menu, keep in mind that oAccordion Categories supports up to 5 levels down of nested categories.

It supports auto closing, menu state saving with cookies, auto expanding on page load, fully close on mouse out and more other options. I updated the product description on the product page: https://www.odience…egories-en.html

Just check the admin page for all the options available:

How to disable default Vertical Drop down effect to this Accordian Addon effect as tecchese did in his website. ?

I made this add on to work Version 3 of MVE.

Thanks for the screenshot. I can see the option half way down that refers to the Hover / Click to expand.

Also your URL provided above is dead…

Thank you very much for pointing the URL issue. I did a quick fix, but I think about writing an addon which will manage these kind of situations by providing the ability to write “redirects” from the admin panel.

By the way “odience accordion categories” addon is now updated to version 3.0 and supports “multiple accordion categories on same page” with unique properties per accordion menu and LOTS of optimizations, rewriting and a NEW THEME, inspired from your design, on comment #4 on this topic. (FREE addon: Accordion Menu (improved) - Third-Party Add-ons - CS-Cart Community Forums)

There is no more reason to wait! just get yourself a license and use “odience accordion categories” on your store!

Thanks again for your great feedback
