Free Addon: Universal Wishlists / Gift Registries

[size=4]Hello CS Cart Store Owners!

I'm very excited to announce Giftery.me's first ever CS-Cart Addon bringing our universal wishlists to stores and product syndication to drive free traffic back.

Why use Giftery.me? 99% of first-time visitors don't buy… It takes over 24 hours from first click for the average online purchase to be completed from… No matter how you slice it, people shop on their terms and the word of the day is choice. That's where Giftery.me comes in – we offer a free universal wishlist to let people save, share and get the products from they want from any store or site– anything.

Our addon brings universal wishlists to your product pages with the List It button to engage your visitors and give them a reason to come back. Plus…

Installing this addon takes just a few clicks with no code changes required.

Simply follow the install guide found after signing up for your free store profile (required for us to link users back to your site) and in the addon zip file.

Advanced users can edit the template or manually place the List It button elsewhere in the product page.

This is interesting. I was trying to view your sample site at…

giftery.me - Gift Ideas & Reviews

…but it is a blank page.

Good catch… The page has been fixed and includes a screenshot (also shown in the first post) along with an example button that you can test out:

Obviously we don't have any CS Cart installs yet but if you'd like I can send over the address of a few real stores using the feature on other platforms.

Pretty cool. I can see the use of this and it looks good. The only thing I don't like, is that we'd get yet another button on our product page (next to facebook like, pinterest, G+).

How about making it possible for users to turn this on and off themselves? For example, when a b-day is coming up. Or am I missing the point?

Why don't you install a Community Version of CS?

That certainly makes sense but I don't see your typical visitor deciding to go to a settings page to enable or disable an option on an ecommerce store unless you had a very high volume deal / curation site. Or do you see a better way to present it?

Like other social sharing buttons, Giftery.me integrates with any site, and for most cases our example site (giftery.me - Gift Ideas & Reviews) suffices. However providing a better demo for CS Cart makes sense and we have reached out to the CS Cart team to see what we can do.

Thanks for the suggestion!

It's been 10 days since we launched our addon and we're really excited by the stores already coming on to try Giftery.me. We've also been included in CS Cart's partner marketplace.

I want encourage everyone, whether you using our addon or not, to share your thoughts – what you'd like to see added or changed – I think you'll find that we're very receptive to feedback and bringing features out quickly.

And of course if you have questions or want to understand more about why List It can help your stores increase sales, just reply back or send a message here @ CS Cart.

With the announcement of CS Cart 3.0 final we've made a few quick changes of our own and Giftery.me's List It extension will now automatically work in either 2.x or 3.x. If you're upgrading your store give List It a try and let me know what you think.

Here's a quick preview of how the List It button looks in 3.0. Of course you can move the button to fit your design…

To get started you'll need to create a free giftery.me store profile, upload our extension files and enter two configuration variables – everything else is handled automatically with no code edits, widget configuration or other work required.

This is an important fact that needs to be considered… with buttons being added the space is getting crowded. Already the pinit button has been aligned per the description at the below link

http://forum.cs-cart…__fromsearch__1

Refer to the images attached and you can see that the new button now is on top of pinit & facebook button… how they can be aligned to be in the same line?

Appreciate a response with fix.

Great question and point.

Obviously every site is configured a bit differently and will show a different array of buttons, some for sharing, some for commerce enabled functions, thus while we opted for simplicity by default, the button is designed to move freely within your product page.

To customize the location follow these 3 steps:

  1. Delete the files from /var/skins_repository/base/customer/addons/listit and /var/skins_repository/basic/customer/addons/listit to remove the current List It display but leave the rest of the addon intact.

  2. Paste the following code into the appropriate location in your product page template depending on where you want the button to show [in your case after where the Pinterest and Facebook buttons are].

{if $addons.listit.showbtn}

List It
{/if}

3. To alter the alignment of social buttons you may want to wrap List It and others into a DIV or Table for better control of spacing.

If you already have code in place for your page's buttons we can tweak that for you.

Alternatively you can skip the button completely and simply make a link to a popup using the format below with plain text or any graphic you wish to include. That and all the code for List It can be found right here.

Happy July everyone!

We've made a quick update to the List It button to offer automatic http and https support so no matter how people view your product pages, List It will appear properly. And of course the entire List It process runs over https to help keep your customer's safe and reassured as they save products to share or shop later.

We've also simplified the installation process… Check out the new guide at giftery.me - Gift Ideas & Reviews it's just upload, activate and enter two fields. No template edits or exporting required.

To upgrade simply download the zipfile from the main post, extract and upload the files. No further changes areneeded.

Hello everyone!

It's been a while since we had a post to this thread but behind the scenes we've been working with many of you and for those not using List It yet [or if you haven't had a chance to reply to our emails lately] I want to share a couple updates…

First up we've improved our display options and now offer a dozen different button styles plus support for your own custom image. Here's an example:

Second we're rolling out the beta for a new “Wishlists for Websites” page which brings full list viewing, searching & purchasing right into your store. Like List It there's no charge so drop me a PM if you're interested in taking it for a test.
