Thanks for the inquiry.
CartSpan doesn't really have an interface per se. There are underlying configruation screens in-which the user establishes how he/she wants the order to import (i.e., Order vs. Invoice, follow with cash receipt?, and many, many more…). When these configurations have been established, it's just a matter of 'starting' the service. Like most integrations, CartSpan runs on a schedule that is appropriate to your business. Other than this, the transactions that import into QuickBooks or Sage 50 U.S. (formerly Peachtree) look as if they were keyed-in by hand.
The flip-side of the order download/import is the pricing and stock quantity writes back to the cart. The competitive advantage that CartSpan enjoys (as best I can tell) is that, updates in the cart are triggered by invoicing, material adjustments, and receiving activity in the accounting system. Thus, you don't have a massive upload that occurs frequently in-order to keep the cart current.
All of this occurs quietly in the background unless there is some type of exception encountered during operation. And, if you deal with middleware and integrations at all, you know that exceptions are difficult to avoid. When these do occur, CartSpan has built-in mechanisms for communicating to system administrators for the purpose of intervention.
Presently, CartSpan is serving U.S. versions of Sage 50 and QuickBooks (Enterprise, Premium, Pro). I'm certainly interested in expanding the QuickBooks offering to serve other versions. At this point, it's simply a matter of my not having enough exposure to these other versions for the purpose of assessing the underlying differences.
Admittedly, I could do a better job of presenting screenshots or images of the product. Until that time, I've attached a few key screenshots that should give you a feel for how CartSpan is configured and executed.

[font=verdana,geneva,sans-serif]This is very similar to the 'Interspire Web Connector' product (free) that allowed you to remotely sync your website sales data (Sales Orders, Invoices, Orders etc) with Quickbooks or vice-versa.[/font]
[font=verdana,geneva,sans-serif]However the biggest limitation was that you could not even test it unless you had an SSL certificate set up for the client plus a dedicated IP for them. Expense that is not worth outlaying until the customer has signed the dotted line![/font]

[font=verdana,geneva,sans-serif]- Install Windows XP and 7 (x86 + x64 for testing)[/font]

[font=verdana,geneva,sans-serif]- Then create a copy, run the virtual machine, and install Intuit Quickbooks 2011/2012 or 2012/2013 as it is here. [/font]
[font=verdana,geneva,sans-serif]- Then once the trial version has expired, you've had plenty of time to test the software and your QB + CSCart integration app![/font]

I found a few screenshots of Lexware QuickBooks and, while the input screens have similarities, I suspect that they are really entirely different products 'underneath the covers.' Sage is now doing this with their 'Sage 50' product line. The U.S., Canadian, and U.K. versions of 'Sage 50' are all very different products, which essentially represents another complex accounting integration for products like CartSpan.
Wouldn't it be nice if one could simply set regional configuration in the software and it would just scale our needs?!

p.s. One product! Then how would they force people to upgrade to their local edition when moving from the UK or USA! 
Also, with all the updates around the world from various accounting rules and regulations, there would be far too many updates to deal with! (Although they could just organise themselves better!)
Strange that Webgility is not involved, answering questions, providing feedback and getting in there to promote their product… I wonder why they haven't responded!?
Webgility is not “following” this thread so they probably just posted it and they did not plan on keeping an eye on it. Just a guess. It does seem like they would want to follow it and answer questions.
The only thing about Webgility that concerned me was their UI basically replaces some key areas of administration that takes place through CSCart. My goal is to avoid adding another piece for the users that would require training and switching back and forth from one to the other. From my experience, I think CSCart has an easy UI on the administration side making it a quick transition from one shopping cart to another. And, CSCart being open source the admin can be customized if needed. Once you start adding pieces and parts that are closed it adds complexity to administration and business processing.
