Printing Label Options

Is there any Fedex integration for printing labels other than ShippingKit? I purchased ShippingKit in Feb and it has never worked.

ShippingKit said “This is a new addon (it uses the Advanced FedEx Web Services API). We created it as a replacment for the old one (Fedex Ship Manager API). FedEx requires a certification for the ne API. We are working on the process of certification.”

But this issue doesn't seem to be getting resolved. It is such a waste of time populating labels manually.

Anybody else shipping with Fedex and have a way of printing labels?

We've been using shippingkit.com too to print fedex shipping labels and it worked well for the last couple years until about a month ago. Now we are stuck. I'm with you… is there any solutions to help us out?

We have Fedex and UPS integrations for in-house use. All that's left to be done is certify the labels. We do plan on selling the add-on, though I'll admit our go-to-market strategy is not 100% ready.

If a few of you are willing to pool funds towards this project, I would be willing to package it into a formal, easily installable add-on.

Here are our screenshots (note the ability to switch carriers by dropdown):

Our development process and approach is further explained on this site: http://www.shiponlin…/ecommerce.html

We would be charging a small monthly fee, per carrier, to support ongoing updates and maintenance of the shipping integration.

What is great about our solution is the ease and ability to switch to competing carriers should you negotiate better rates. Our platform is truly multi-carrier.

If there's interest, please do not hesitate to pm here or e-mail via jjtrottier@jtec.ca

Best regards,

Jacques

This looks very cool. Do you know if DHL supports EU / German DHL Intraship?

I honestly have no idea what is available on that front, as I come from Canada and our shipping integration is targeted towards North American clients.

Sorry I don't have more info!

Cheers,

Ok, thing is, I'm in the process of having DHL EU / Germany labelprinting integrated in cs-cart as we speak. Would you be interested in working together and adding this carrier to your software?

That way my guy doesn't have to make the cs-cart side, and you will have a nice extra service to offer.

Cheers - Floris

My FedEx Shipping Kit module just went down today. I guess the changes with FedEx just caught up with the software? Stinks becuase I'm rushing to do a ton of packages by hand. Has anybody tried the software above? I just sent a request to have a rep call me to discuss this. I need to do something.
I am using writeitonce that was suggested by clips in another post (I cannot find the post). Write it once has its ups and downs. it integrates with all my sites at once, does Fedex, UPS and Endicia and can do labels in bulk if needed which is what I really needed and it imports all my orders and inventory into quickbooks. You have to install Fedex Ship Manager to ship via Fedex which was simple but I had to set an appointment and wait a week for them to give me the link to download it. Biggest drawback is you have to manually fill in the tracking info into CS Cart. Write it once also helps you with the setup of their product but it does take some time (I have oscommerce and CS Cart and I would say I spent 5 hours of time on the phone with them for setup, not hard, just allot of steps). Don't know if this helps, I am also anxious to see how the above will work when it is finished.

About the “above integration”, which is mine ;) - we are having alt-team repackage our source code into a formal module that can be easily installable.

I would like to get a group of testers out there to try out our module and provide feedback. Those willing to go through the exercise can expect a hearty discount and preferred pricing for being early adopters. Right now it works with UPS and Fedex. USPS / Stamps can be added on within a few weeks time if the demand is there.

Please reach out to me if you’re stuck in this boat and want a better, more stable integration. The more prospects the greater the potential success of this.

Best regards,

Jacques, as said, I would love to help you get DHL up & running. I have a developer working on it right now… but it would be much better to implement it into your package. I could ask him to provide you with whatever it is you need.

Hey Flow!

My apologies for not responding to your earlier request. I'm certainly not trying to ignore you and I am very interested in what we could build together for your region! I honestly have no idea what the demand would be in your geography and how/when we could integrate it for you. Right now, we're trying to get a handle on the North American marketplace, but that doesn't mean I'm not interested in the european marketplace either. You're from the Netherlands, correct? What sort of code could your developer provide me with to accelerate implementation?

Can you send me the API documentation for DHL in your region? I will examine the API/XML specification to see what we could do to accomodate your region ASAP. Of course, if you know other sellers in your region that are interested, then this would help to accelerate development and reduce implementation costs. Please send me another PM with as much detail about what you need to get your shipping automation working properly and I'll do my best to provide something for you.

I will make it known that we have a few large-scale projects with major clients over $35,000USD that are grabbing our attention on the front-lines. That being said, I have still committed one dedicated person towards shipping integration with e-commerce, primarily CS-Cart. Thus, we are open to opportunities here to integrate with whatever carriers are most in demand. So I urge anyone who wants a proper shipping integration to PM or e-mail me at jjtrottier@jtec.ca. Over time, we would love to accomodate carriers across the world, but as usual, time and money will dictate the overall direction of our projects.

Best regards,

Hi Jacques,

It might work for all of Europe, I wouldn’t know. I’m from the Netherlands buy my company is in Germany :)

We’d like to integrate DHL Germany. A product called intraship. I have mailed my developer, sent him this topic, to see what we can do.

Cheers - Floris

Great!

Feel free to give your developer my e-mail address. I will be happy to communicate with him/her further to see what direction we can take this integration.

Of course, please make sure there is english/french API documentation as I can only speak one of two languages. Preferably English!

Best regards,

Any idea yet what the price will be when you are done?

I am offering an introductory rate to those who are willing to work with us in testing this module and providing feedback for the finished version. As I've already mentioned, we will be charging a monthly fee as it is clear this type of endeavour requires some ongoing support and maintenance to be done properly.

The rates we're setting are as such:

$14.95/mo for one carrier

$24.95/mo for two carriers

$29.95/mo for three carriers

$99 one-time for the module. No limitations on transaction volume. Each additional store is licensed $50 one-time. Monthly pricing stays the same for the client organization regardless of whether they have 1 or 3 stores.

As an introductory incentive, I am willing to waive the monthly fee for 3 months and provide free setup/consultation in exchange for :

  • your feedback and patience with any bugs
  • a positive review on this forum

If this works for you, please indicate your interest by e-mailing me at jjtrottier@jtec.ca . Tell me what carriers you need integrated.

Note: the module will only be ready in about three weeks. Thus, there will be a wait time which we can ideally use to plan your integration and prepare everything to quickly flip the on switch.

    Thanks guys,

    Thanks guys,
I will do testing for Fedex (I am in US), I would assume it has to go through the label approval process? Since the CS Cart version 2.2.4 thru current version still integrates with fedex, will the addon call back to your site for realtime rates or go thru fedex directly?

Yes, it would need to be certified technically. However, we can assure you that the certification process will be flawless with Fedex as we are already using it in production in-house. Next on our list is UPS, then USPS.

To make life easier, we can create a certification wizard that generates all the necessary labels for the Fedex services you wish to certify. Also, we can write up an instructions document to describe the entire certification process. Fedex has done a poor job of this but since we've done it, we can make life easier for you.

With regards to calculated rates, before generating a label you have the option to fetch rates and this returns all available services with your negotiated rates. Once you fetch rates, you select the service level you want to ship the order with (i.e. 2day, Ground) and then generate the label from there. Of course, a tracking number will be generated which you can email automatically to the client.

Adding the certification wizard would be a great feature. I know the first time I did it I didn't have the time to read through all of the directions that Fedex supplied so I waited 3 months before doing it. If I had taken the time to read it I would have seen all that was needed was to create labels for the methods I would be using and submit them.

Would the rates be fetched via your addon or thru CS Cart?

For the time being, our module does not touch the rate calculation modules during checkout. Thus, you would continue to use CS-Cart's existing functionality for this process with your existing API key.

However, during label generation, we do fetch the rates using our addon. Again, this is linked to your API key with Fedex, thus providing your negotiated rates.
