The versions of V3 that have been produced so far are "Release Candidates". I.e. it is BETA quality software.
There is NO official upgrade between RC releases and an upgrade from 2.2.4 has not yet been defined (but will probably be somewhere within the fist 10 production releases - upgrade from 1.35 to 2.0 was at 2.0.

There is NO set release date. However, the developers have indicated sometime this month.
Bugs should be reported in the Bugtracker, not here. They will not make it into their system if reported in the forum.
If you run a real business, you might want to give the product several bug-fix releases AFTER the production release before trying to use the product in a true production mode. This is new software and many issues will not be revealed until it is running in a production environment.
A good indicator of when the developers consider the product to be pretty stable will be the release at which they provide an upgrade from 2.2.4 to the current V3 version.
Note that as sales of V2 freeze due to the pre-announcement of V3, there will be increasing business pressure on the developers to release V3 even if it's not ready for production. It's the nature of the beast and is known in the industry as "The Osborne Effect".
Hope this summary helps. Having nearly 500 replies to a post makes it pretty difficult to capture unless you've been following from the start.
