Obviously this post has gotten so long that no one will read it. Some key points:

The versions of V3 that have been produced so far are "Release Candidates". I.e. it is BETA quality software.
There is NO official upgrade between RC releases and an upgrade from 2.2.4 has not yet been defined (but will probably be somewhere within the fist 10 production releases - upgrade from 1.35 to 2.0 was at 2.0.8).
There is NO set release date. However, the developers have indicated sometime this month.
Bugs should be reported in the Bugtracker, not here. They will not make it into their system if reported in the forum.
If you run a real business, you might want to give the product several bug-fix releases AFTER the production release before trying to use the product in a true production mode. This is new software and many issues will not be revealed until it is running in a production environment.
A good indicator of when the developers consider the product to be pretty stable will be the release at which they provide an upgrade from 2.2.4 to the current V3 version.

Note that as sales of V2 freeze due to the pre-announcement of V3, there will be increasing business pressure on the developers to release V3 even if it's not ready for production. It's the nature of the beast and is known in the industry as "The Osborne Effect".

Hope this summary helps. Having nearly 500 replies to a post makes it pretty difficult to capture unless you've been following from the start.

Dear vanderex.

If I understand you correctly, you would like to have the details of the fix so you could apply it to an RC yourself.

This fix is quiet a complicated thing and applying it independently to an RC manually would certainly be a bad idea. It is at the time available only in the developer version of the software.

The fix will be included in the final CS-Cart 3 version. We ask you to be patient and just wait will the final release is on.

If you use cpanel, the best way is to place the archive in the root of your store and then right-click it and choose "expand". Regardless of whether it's a zip file or a tgz file, cPanel will then extract it properly.

I need some advice, I'm planning to upgrade to the 3v, after it come out, but I will wait to upgrage to v3, few months after its out.

My store now is 2.0.15, should I start upgrading my store now? or I should wait and the v3 is out and do all at once?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thank you
Tom

The Quick search add-on will be unavailable starting from CS-Cart 3. It is shortly to be replaced with Searchanise, our new search service.

You are very welcome to discuss Searchanise and all related topics in the separate thread.

create_sub_product()
sell_subproduct_to(customer_base)

create_bugs($method="bad_coding")
create_support_tickets()
