Google Analytics Site Search Parameter

I am using Google Analytics to track visitors on my website. The software provides a detailed search query report that shows the terms that people are searching on your website along with the pages they visit, search refinement etc. But in order to set that up, a search query parameter has to be set up in Google Analytics before it can track searches on the website.

Does anyone know what parameter can be used? I tried “q” but that doesn't work.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I've tried also "?q=" but it's not working. Maybe somebody from CS-Cart could give us some info. I'm using 4.3.5

In CS-Cart we use "q" parameter. keep in mind not "?" or "=" should be included.

Try to follow this guide: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1012264?hl=en

And let me know the result.

Hello Imac

When you use Searchanise or a similar search engine you cannot use Google Analytics at all or am I wrong here and if so in what way ? When you use search in our store you do not get a search results URL.

If customer clicks the search icon and he is redirected to a search results page than there should be a "q" parameter.
But with searchanise I suppose people do everything in a facet. So nothing will be sent to GA. Not sure if I can help you with searchanise.

Well still thanks for looking into it.
