www.aussiemaille.com - Chain Maille Jewellery supplies

Hi,

We have just launched our new site: www.aussiemaille.com

It is for the professional and hobbyist jewellery maker that enjoys creating chain maille jewellery.

Interested in what you think.

Regards,

Chris

Nice site Chris,

Easy to navigate and find what you may need. The gallery and library are excellent additions. Very well done.

The home page images are nothing less than spectacular, silver colored jewelry (usa spelling) is one of the most difficult things to photograph. Jump rings are next to impossible. The only thing I thought was curious is the lack of borders on the category images.

(very nit-picky) That's just a personal preference though.

Very well done.

great look without hardly drifting from the Electro template, I really like it. how did you get the borders around the images?

John

woops, meant to say borders around the product images. The category image borders are very cool.

thanks for the great feedback jackyboy and John.

jackyboy, my wife is the photographer of the outfit so she will be very happy to hear your kind words. The borders around the category images on the products page was a very discussed topic. In the end, we decided not to over do borders and keep it a bit clean. (ok … so we could not really agree on a better alternative :grin:)

This was done with CSS. I am living with most IE versions making the corners square and not round. Assuming you have a styles.css in your my_changes folder, add the following code into it. This will impact all product images in your site.

<br />
.image-border {<br />
	padding: 5px;<br />
	margin: 3px;<br />
	border: 1px solid #000;<br />
	-moz-border-radius: 5px;<br />
	-khtml-border-radius: 5px;<br />
	-webkit-border-radius: 5px;<br />
	border-radius: 5px;<br />
}<br />

```<br />
Nice site. Good photos. Makes me want to create a coif and some gauntlets. Do you think a shark could bite through it if I made a copper-ring dive-suit?
Thanks plinkplink.
The copper rings wont be much help, I think the stainless steel ones would be better. We only use them for jewellery so of course I cannot offer you any guarantees. Unless the sharks have a thing for shiny necklaces. ;)
