in your opinion… 1500/2000 images the best it is in the database or in the images directory ?

Probably the filesystem - why clutter the database too much?
it is also my idea to reduce the requests in database…
File system, no matter what. Pictures in the database are large files that slow your store down.

Theres just too many performance issues with having them in the database, and they are no more secure than in the file area…
