LittleForNow.com - Cloth Diapers & Eco-Friendly Products

Hi All!

After a couple months of design and development we just launched the brand new Little For Now (http://www.littlefornow.com) website! Completely re-branded the whole site as well as an updated color scheme and layout. This site also features an upgraded Gift Registry addon, that works in conjunction with the CS-Cart addon, to add more logical use and easier navigation (FYI we will be selling the addon within the next month or so for everyone else to use too!).

A few 3rd party addons we used on this site are:

Seonid - Checkout Step 4 Images (free version) Add-on (product images in checkout step 4) - Third-Party Add-ons - CS-Cart Community Forums

Brandonvd - Subcategory Thumbnails - Subcategory Thumbnails Addon With SEO for 2.1.1 - Third-Party Services - CS-Cart Community Forums

There are still a few things that need some tweaking and we are getting ready to beta test ShippingKit's news addon to fix thumbnails of products with option combinations.

And FYI the store owner is having a sale this week if you need any products, everything is 15% off (and boy was that discount fun to setup)!

Thanks!

~Riika

Nice work!

Although I no longer have even the least amount of interest in diapers :) , your design fits very well with your target market and looks quite professionally done. ;)

Thanks Struck!

Yah I don’t personally have any kids so I don’t have any need for diapers, cloth or otherwise, either :)

Very nice design and very fast for me as well.

Thanks :) Good to hear it is fast, I haven’t even put in the Speed Optimizer yet!

Very nice looking site! Is that the MV version?

Thanks Fabuser :) Nope it’s just Pro. We’re planning on upgrading to Multi-Store when it’s released though.

Hi, great looking site!

I was just wondering what limitations you found with the Gift Registry Add-on that you had to implement yourself?

We're about to build a gift registry based store and am wondering if we should start now, or wait till yours is released.

thanks!

Here is a list of what I remember off the top of my head :)

  • Once a registry is created there is an email dispatched to the creator that has a thank you message and links to the registry (only editable in a .tpl file)
  • Changed the Private Access Token to be easier to remember, I believe it is the creators Last Name Date of Event (i.e. MagnusAug2011)
  • “Add to Gift Registry” link that looks just like “Add to Wish list” (blue text with arrow) appended to all products and only shows up when someone is logged in and they have a Gift Registry.
  • Created a whole new Gift Registry block that when logged in has options to “Edit Gift Registry”, “View Gift Registry” as well as the three normal functions that always show up “Search for a Gift Registry”, “Find Private Registry” and “Create Gift Registry”.
  • Added the ability to change the “Bought Quantity” of an item added to a registry (for retail purchase update without having to change actual quantity of an item)
  • Removed the “End date” and there is now just one “Event Date”
  • Added the creators name to view all registries listing

Without going through everything that is what I can recall right now. I can setup a sample store for you to play around with it if you like. Hopefully will have it available to purchase within the next month, but if it is something you wanted and needed earlier we could get it packaged up for you :)

Very good job. I would love to see a beautiful baby picture at the header, maybe a few different ones in sliding banners advertising the different section especially the reward points, newsletter and the on-sale page.

Thanks for the reply!

It will probably be ok. From what you've said it looks like there weren't any serious issues with the way Gift Registries work in cs-cart. We also have a lot of customisations to make so may be better for us to start with the base install.

Some people have complained about it being buggy, i.e. doubling quantities of products, customers unable to change the gift registries after creating. Did you find any issues like that?

bye

So the addon we created actually works in conjunction with the CS-Cart standard addon. It's more of an addon that enhances the built in functionality. So far my client has not run into any issues like you describe. I know from playing around with it there is no difficultly changing quantities that I have seen.

I like it, nice job!

If I would have to change something I would compress the top part a bit (will be difficult I know, there is always so much info to get across) because more and more people seem to be surfing on widescreen laptop with low resolutions. Even higher end laptops or common 20" screens have ususally no more then 900 pixels in height at the moment. (Crazy trend, as if all we do is watch movies on our PCs)

On the laptop I'm now using for example, I always have to scroll to see the first price of the first product.

Anyway, I love the look, really fits the target group. I agree to make it even better, you might wanna have a little funny baby face peeking at the logo or something like that… just to get a smile on the face of your visitors when they first visit your website. It's an old marketing trick: if you make them feel good / happy / laugh, they will be more willing to spend in your shop (

(we have a beautiful word for this in Dutch: “gunnen”. I wouldn't know how to translate it, but it means something like… somebody feels you deserve the sale. Maybe “to grant” comes close but it has a completely different feel)

Ok I have to stop now.

Nice website!

Thanks Flow :)

The header is a bit big, but we have a lot going on there, so I dont feel like is is wasted space, but that is something to consider for the future :)

Hey rmsilver7 very nice information you are provided about buying cloths. it's really good.

Nice, professional looking site.

Nice, professional looking site.

Very Very Very good !!!, Professional look !!! Compliments !!

Nice design.

Constructive criticisms:

1. You've got Arial and Tahoma fighting each other. In styles.css you have:

body {font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;}

while in style.base.css it's:

body {font: normal 13px Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;}

2. Some of the copy, like in the product category pages, is mismatched in size with the navigation around it. The product details font font=arial,helvetica,sans-serif is only set to 85%. Looks kinda funky. Body copy should probably match throughout the site.

3. Option Paralysis! There are exactly one billion choices on every page!

These are all very minor and I expect no one will notice or care, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Nice colors.
