Nivo Slider Add On

I would like to offer my first attempt at an Add On for free to the community. This is a modified version of Glen's (user: sixnin9) banner_slidershow. I have modified it to use Nivo Slider. It is using version 2.2.1.

I would like to be able to add the settings in hooks/index/scripts.post.tpl directly in the add on so they can be changed at admin and not in the code but i have no clue how. If anyone could advise me how that would be awesome!

Any questions please let me know.

CS-Cart Nivo Slider Add On

Thank you very much ^_^

Great! I’m sure someone will pick it up and improve! Only wish I knew how… :)

It works. v.2.2.2 Thanks a lot! (Testing v.2.2.4)

Very useful addon. I'm currently using it on my sisters site www.marthajean.com.au

When I get around to it I'd like to do the following:

  • Only include the js when a page is using the slider
  • Put some admin hooks in there (it's a little painful at the moment)
  • Maybe merge the css into the the other ones.

I have a few problems.

I’ve followed the instructions - /addon/ and also to /var/skin_repository/base/addons/ etc…

I then edit the structure file, adding a comma at the end of the existing line, and then add the 2nd line below - linking to the new NIVO banner addon.

I then enable the “Banners management” (built-in) add-on.

Then I enable the “Banners: Slideshow” (downloaded) add-on.

Before I even add a block to the layout, on the front-end of the shop, the left hand menu had been moved over 50px to the right, leaving a big white gap.

I then add the Banners block to the top of the store. And add some banners images to it.

Save.

Clear cache.

Open front end again, and the banner is there, however it’s huge - ridiculous height - perhaps 800px! (the DIV or whatever, as you could click and see an outline)

I the block tried it in the TOP, BOTTOM and in the content area.

Would really appreciate it if anyone could show me their stores with this implemented - perhaps with and/or without changes made to it.

The whole thing doesn’t seem right at all.

Thanks

:)

p.s. 2.2.1 professional license. Still too cautious of upgrading until we sort some things out…

I have the same problem, when installing the add-on, pages are modified, the left menu is going right. If uninstall the banned add-on, the pages are looking right as normal. Please HELP!!!

I’ll try to help you. Whats your url? Your going to probably need to make changes to the CSS

in addons/banners_slideshow/css/default.css. I have it all setup on one of my dev

site at 173.199.158.107 if you would like to take a look.

    I agree. I plan to work on including the js only when the slider is called.

    What kind of admin hooks?

    Merge css can be done using the config.local.php file join_css var.

Hey SoleSurvivor:

Visit Here: http://forum.cs-cart.com/index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=core&area=notifications

It will show the page “Notification Options”.

Then:

  • Untick: Disable my personal messenger
  • Tick: Hide my email address from other members
  • Tick: Send me any updates sent by the board administrator

    Then scroll down, and the section named “Private Messages”, tick all 3 check boxes in the first column, within that section.

    That should do it! :)

    Speak with you soon!

I faced the same problem when installed it to the v2.2.3 version! Any fix for this problem yet? Thanks.

Everyone. My apologies I left a hack in the JS code that applied only to me. To fix the width issue simply

remove line 5 of \yourskin\customer\addons\banners_slideshow\hooks\index\scripts.post.tpl.

$('.central-column').width(832);
```<br />
<br />
I will have updated the download file as well to reflect this change if<br />
you want to just re-download it. If you have any problems let me know.
Please send me a link to your site so I can check it out. If you followed the instructions in the .txt file
you should have a working slider.
Since you have installed CSC under the /store/ directory it would be the root of CSC not the site root.
Do you have CPANEL on your server? If so just go to your file manager and upload the zip file to your www/.
Then right click and select EXTRACT. Choose www/store/ as the location to extract to since this is where your Cs-Cart install is located.Let me know if that doesn’t work with you.
