Incompleted Orders

Hi, I use PayPal as the payment processors and I receive many orders as incomplete. Why are they set as orders if they are incomplete? Are they orders that the user went to PayPal and canceled from there and it get recorded as incomplete? Is it a way to know that someone was going to by but didn't so you can get back to them? Sometimes the orders goes from Incomplete to Processed a bit later. I'm guessing it was still in their cart and finally went all the way.

Does anyone know how an order get set to Incomplete?

Thanks,

D.

It looks like an order that was placed over 1 hour ago with a status to incomplete just changed to processed. I contacted the buyer and he had paid with his credit card on Paypal. Unless it's something else, it seems as if someone pay with their credit card on Paypal, it takes over 1 hour to show up in our Paypal account.

Does anyone experienced that before?

Thanks.

D.

I have the same issue. I think the response may be too slow from paypal, but I'm not sure. I double check all of my incomplete orders and manually change them. Fortunately, most of our customers don't use paypal.

I have several Incompleted Orders too. I allow payment via credit card, PayPal, and check/money order. All of my Incompleted Orders were paid with PayPal. I know I received the funds for at least one of these Incompleted Orders. Why is this happening? Can it be corrected?

Happened to me too also yesterday, I only found out when a customer called chasing their goods.

Still incompleted after 7 days!

version 2.1.4

John

Paypal also offers something like e-check now. This can take up to 10 days I believe according to paypal, but all orders we received where customers choose this method eventually failed (we got an email from paypal).

Very strange…

At some point this past year, all my paypal orders started showing up OPEN (on 2.0.14). That continued until I updated to 2.2.4 on Christmas day, and now all my paypal orders are showing INCOMPLETE.

Most all of the orders that show OPEN and now INCOMPLETE are actually paid orders. I get a paid notification to my e-mail and if I go to my paypal account and check. It is paid and complete there.

There is no reason for these orders to not show Processed.

Somebody must have an answer for this.

I'm guessing that the callback URL you are supplying to paypal (either in cs-cart config or in paypal itself) is failing and so the cart is never being notified of the SUCCESS of the transaction. It could be that you are specifing an https connection when it should be http or it could be an incorrect url.

Either this or your server is too slow and the callback is timing out! Happened to me alot over Xmas.

We have a client, who kept telling us, that the orders are recorded as incomplete, but in fact the clients paid.

We finally managed to find the BUG !!! and guess what, nobody else reported it !

Want to know why some orders which are actually paid show up as incomplete ? :)

Okay, I'll bite. Tell me about the defect!

Nah, I don't want to know. I kind of like the whole mystery of it all.

Yes please

It's gotta bes some type of conspiracy bug.

I still get those incomplete or open order once in a while. Once, it showed an order for 1 item of a certain amount, and it was a different item and paid a different amount on Paypal. Happened once over many orders so I'm really concern but wondering what the hell.

The main problem I have is with the reward points. This is my main selling points and more than half the time, the points are never added once completed in the user's account. Yes the item is set properly and some users get the points for the same item but that's a different topic.

Please post how to fix the bug or how much.

D

Weird I never have incomplete orders actually… it does take some minutes for the order to become completed though but that's normal.

Ok, the bug we found is this.

In case the add-on Reward points activated, and a user will pay his order with cash + reward points

Lets say, the total order was 10 Euro, and the client paid with 8.5 eur and points (1.5 eur value)

Basically he paid with his credit card only 8.5 eur and since the amount paid, is not equal with the order total value, you can say the order was not paid in full, so it was placed as incomplete.

Hope I explained it ok, and you can understand what I actually said.

And the fix is…?

Yes that's what I also would like to know… or post it in the bugtracker so CS can solve it?

anyone from the ones with problems can confirm that, their orders actually contained reward points?

If so, i`ll post a fix tomorrow
