Free shipping and not free shipping International

I have some items with free shipping and some are not free.

The free shipping items are market free shipping in the product shipping table

The non free items are setup manually using the shipping methods.

This works all very well.

Now i would like to go international, but won’t be able to offer free shipping.

I have setup a new location for the international shipping.

Works well with the non free shipping items, but the free shipping items are still showing as free shipping.

I am using the Product quantity in the shipping methods section.

here is an example:

USA

Product A free shipping >ok

Product B Manual calculated >ok

France

Product A Still showing free > Not ok

Product B manual calculated > ok

So i guess the fact that i have my free shipped products set in the shipping properties of the product is whats doing this.

Is there a way to work around this?

Hello carbjetkits,

As far as I understand, you enabled the “Free shipping” option for some of your products and you do not want them to be shipped to other countries for free. In this case I suggest that you should do the following:

  • Disable the “Free shipping” option for all products;
  • Create two locations (the first location is for your domestic destinations and another one is for international destinations);
  • Create a shipping method with the following conditions:
    1. Make this shipping method as a free one for the location of domestic destinations. In order to implement it, you should follow instructions in the “Setting up a free shipping method” article of our Knowledge base: [url]CS-Cart Documentation — CS-Cart 4.15.x documentation
    2. Specify necessary shipping charges for the location of international destinations.

      As a result you will have a shipping method that will be a free one for necessary products if a customer has a domestic address and it will provide necessary shipping charges if a customer has an international address.

Thanks, but i got that far already.

i do have 2 locations set up ( one domestic and one international)

Domestic i need some products free shipping and all other products one flat rate shipping cost.

i have done this and it works great.

International i need one flat rate shipping for all products.

If i do like you said then on domestic all my products are free shipping.

I know i could add a shipping freight in the products section, but is not an option, since this just add that set amount per item.

Domestic:

Product A Free shipping

Product B + product B + product C = $5 shipping

Product B =$5 shipping

International:

Product A = $8 shipping

Product B = $8 shipping

Product A + Product B + Product C = $8 shipping

Yeah, this would apply to me too.

All Domestic shipping needs to obey a fix local cost unless it is free shipping and my international shipping needs to have a fixed international cost.

Some items when added to cart are subject to higher delivery fees done on a product level due to their excessive weight.

How does CS Cart know what is a domestic address if you have multiple countries enabled in your portal?

I would also like to follow this DOMESTIC/INTERNATIONAL SETUP

These should be system defaults in the CS CART admin ares which can be deleted or edited when setting up your shop in my opinion.

This takes away the guess work for us customers… who have professional licenses.

Hello,

In this case I suggest that you should use the suppliers functionality. You should create two different shipping methods with the following conditions:

  • Shipping Method A - domestic destinations: free shipping; international destinations: specific shipping charge;
  • Shipping Method B - domestic destinations: specific shipping charge for non-free-shipping products; international destinations: specific shipping charge.

    After that you should create two suppliers and assign all free-shipping products and shipping method A to the first supplier and all non-free-shipping products and shipping method B to another supplier.

    In order to set up the “Suppliers” functionality, you should follow instructions in the “Setting up the ‘Suppliers’ functionality” article of our Knowledge base: [url]CS-Cart Documentation — CS-Cart 4.15.x documentation
