HELP - How to Convert PDF To Excel

Hi Guys

Does anyone know how to convert PDF files into an Excel CSV file.

Unfortunately my supplier has their price list in PDF format, price list in one PDF and product in another PDF.

I have converted the basic price list just fine into Excel but I cannot work out how to convert the catalog one.

I have tried random free OCR programs and they dont seem to pull the info correctly and then not knowing how to use excel either is just making things very hard and frustrating.

If you have any advice or suggestions please let me know or if you want to have a crack at converting one I can send you the file to have a play with.

I have never used any of the programs before so its making life extremely frustrating.

Thanks

Lance

Cannot be automated in 90% o the time

Yeah, unfortunately I have to agree with @JesseLeeStringer; there really is not a good way to automate such a process, all the websites where you see dual download options, for say your invoice perhaps, in both methods, actually have custom coding to handle both formats, it’s not an easy thing to make happen.

Hiyas

Thanks for the quick replies.

Its only the catalog pdf’s that I am trying to do at this stage as I can upload the 2 separately and merge them together using the product code to match them on the server.

I just need to find a decent way to convert the catalog pdf to excel.

You cannot do it.:!:

What you might be able to do is copy and paste the PDF information to notepad and save it as .txt. Open the .txt file in Excel using tab delimited.

Depending on the quality of your .pdf and how many images/colours, etc., have been used, it may be possible but you would need to check the accuracy of the conversion. I use PDF Converter Professional and would be happy to try and convert it for you if you wanted to send me the file - just PM me if so.
