gift certificate to new customers

How can i give a gift certificate (e.g. 10$) to all NEW customers for their FIRST order (order >$30) ?



i created a cart promotion>condition:once per customer and order subtotal bigger than $30>bonuses:gift certificate:10



but with this, the customer will take the gift AFTER he make an order



i want to give a gift certificate to use on their first order, or to any order but for new customers only

is this possible?

Unfortunately there is no easy way to do it.



You need to modify the code.

Considering most businesses just use coupon codes instead of giving out gift certificates I imagine pretty difficult. I don’t think this is a must to any shopping cart.

i use coupons

but gift for new members is a way to attract customers

Lets say i am looking for product A. founded at two shops (mine and another) with almost the same price. The user will buy from mine because i have this gift for new members.
