SEO not working very well

So we just recently got my site updated and what not and the person who was working on it for me noticed that my SEO addon wasn’t installed and what not. He said once it installed that it really made the website extremely slow. Does anyone know why this would be?

I’m using hostmonster as my domain site and im using version 2.1.4 pro

Just to add to this, he was using 2.0.10 and the SEO addon made his site a lot slower then as well.

He does have like 24,000 products and is on a shared host with Hostmonster. Could the quantity of products be what is slowing the SEO addon down? I also had his site on my test server which is a VPS with ServInt and it seemed really slow on there as well.

The cart was a brand new install of 2.1.4 Pro with his data being updated and imported in.

I would also love to know why the SEO addon makes his site so slow.

check for an error_log in the store root directory and see if it might contain some hints.

Probably not enabled from cPanel or WHM.

Speak to your webhost.

It’s there but doesn’t contain anything helpful

That file should not be viewable!

I configured Brandons VPS and know it has adequate resources so if was slow on that server also then it’s something to do with the cart itself. I still have access to his server and looked through his logs for problems with your test install but can’t find anything related to this. Might want to have CS-Cart support look into this one

alright ill do that and let ya guys know what i find

What’s really weird about this is that his cart is a brand new install so the files are just the default CS-Cart files. I then used the My Changes addon to do the design stuff so no CS files were modified.

It will be interesting to see what CS says.

Brandon

Any weirdneww in the htaccess file? The SEO stuff is all based around Apache not finding a file/directory and then calling the cart with the sef_rewrite argument which then does a quick lookup for the name. The table is properly indexed by default and should not be a performance issue.

i put in a request for cs cart to take a look at it and ill let yea all now what i find out

UPDATE:

Got an answer back from cs cart. The reason why the SEO function is slow is the fact of the cs.js banner. is what there saying.

But brandon, dont you have the cs.js banner and use the SEO addon? hows it work for you?

I have the banner on a couple of sites now and have no problems at all.

That seems like a weird thing to blame it on.

I will say though, you do have 3 banners going on your site, maybe that is the issue. Maybe try disabling the side banners and just leaving the main banner and see if that helps.
